Hello from Texas
Hi. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new member to the forum but have been reading for a few weeks. Everyone is so willing to share I just had to take the plunge and join. I've been painting a little over a year. I went to an event for children with disabilities with my little 4" x 6" Paradise Palette with the intention of sitting next to a fellow clown to observe & learn. She was leaving as I was arriving. I thought I'd just do some walk around instead but a mother asked me if I painted, her son had been waiting and the painter left. I told her I really didn't know how and she looked so sad that I told her to let me get some water and I'd do the best I could. Four hours later I got to stand up because the event was over - and I was out of white paint. I fell in love and have been painting ever since. It's hard to find anyone to share their knowledge and it has been a struggle, but since stumbling on this site I have learned so much. Thanks everyone!! Hugs, Bonnie

Re: Hello from Texas
Hey Bonnie, what a lovely way to get into face painting. Welcome to the group from Cradle Mountain, Tasmania Australia
Re: Hello from Texas
Thanks for the welcome y'all. You have amazing talent here and I hope someday I can be half as good as you...if I live long enough Thanks for the compliment, Psalmbook. Surprisingly it is not that common a name. I've only met one other. Anyway, I hope I'll have something to share in the future. Hugs.

Re: Hello from Texas
Welcome Bonnie!!! What part of Texas are you from. I'm moving there in a little over a month.
Re: Hello from Texas
I'm in the Dallas area. Are you moving to El Paso? I don't know how hot it is there but up here it's 100 right now and should be up to 103 by the middle of next week. Come on December!! Seriously, I hope you like Texas. It is a friendly state with lots of good people.

Re: Hello from Texas
It's 100+ degrees here in Florida & muggy, muggy, muggy! I've stopped painting myself for outdoor events.

Yeah I am going to el paso. I've lived there once before, but it was before I opened my business. I'm interested to see how the business will do in the area. I know there are already a ton of painters there. Hope you enjoy the forum. I know I do.

Good luck and judging from your avitar, you should have no problem getting business at all. There are tons of painters up here, too. And amazing ones. I'm in awe and feel like I'm in kindergarden, but I practice every day and am determined to improve. It's just hard to break in.
Psalmbook, ugh on the humidity in Florida. I wouldn't have a dry moment. Yesterday the humidity was 45%. I took the vinyl tablecloth off to fold and when it hit my leg I got a static shock. There was an audible snap
