I think I forgot to introduce myself personally!
I am Barbie, near York, PA. I fell into this after attending a birthday party that had a painter who took 12-15 minutes to paint a simple spider on my daughter's cheek (using acrylic paint pots LOL). The spider was so badly done and you know what? We LOVED it! That is when I realized that my girls are so easy to please, and we went right away to the craft store to buy paints and a book (Snazaroo brand, thankfully). When we got home I researched Amazon and got the Klutz book. A week later I was in love, and found this forum and then it took off. This all happened less than 3 weeks ago!
Just a personal note because folks always love our story: my two girls are adopted. My oldest Ava is from Louisiana and my younger one is from near Hershey/Harrisburg. We kinda fell into an open adoption with my Ava (she was born 3 mos premature and was very sick and so birth mommy and I *both* pumped to make breast milk for her - yes even I did, and so our love for her brought us together). My Keira was supposed to be a boy and dark-skinned too - but she is more Irish looking and super fair-skinned, and a girl - ha ha! We are just so happy, and feel so blessed and SO undeserving. We just got back from a May week at the Outer Banks with both birth families - our first vacation all together and the first of many to come. Anyway, I just love sharing our story, I hope it puts a smile on your faces
Here are pics of my girls (my hubby Tad is awesome too, just not as into face painting as we are!):
Regards, Barbie
