Monkey Empty Monkey

Post by Psalmbook Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:54 pm

I dread it when a child gets in my chair & asks for a monkey... just dread it! It is the one design that kicks my butt. They end up looking like wrinkled old men, teddy bears or ugly dogs. Does anyone have a good monkey(cheek or full face)?

Shannon's is on her Facepainting 2 page (I think)...worth checking out.

Here's the first one I did to practice for a 'monkey' party, but no one requested a monkey.

Here's one I did on myself. It's from a Wolfe book. Then proceeded to hide in the dark to scare the other half when he walked in the door. Evil or Very Mad lol

He jumped and down and yelled. I'm probably lucky that I didn't get attacked! lol I was laughing so hard that tears came and messed up my mandrill face!

Since then, I've painted my practice head and stuck it in the shower while he was showering. When he turned around and saw it .... well let's just say it provided me with another opportunity to have a good laugh! He's sooooo much fun to scare!! maaahaaaa Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Not so sure we should post pics from the inside of books... if I wrote a book, I wouldn't want the inside of it being posted on the internet for free... Shocked

The mandril is a picture of me that I painted on myself. I referred to a book but I didn't put the book picture on the internet. Isn't that OK to do??

I'm not referencing your post... I'm referencing the posting of the inside of the Dutch book.

Post by helena Sun Sep 11, 2011 12:54 pm

I totally failed doing a monkey yesterday...and it was the last face I painted... left a bad taste in my mouth... the mother was very gracious but I could tell she wasn't impressed at all and I insisted on giving her a discount on the face, even though she was willing to pay the full amount for PPF.

I'd painted the same child as a puppy a few weeks before, at another event, and they'd loved that, but the monkey just sucked... looked more like a wrinkled bear, wish I'd thought to research monkey faces before Saturday - am gonna practice now - thanks for the examples, everyone.
