Re: pretty pony
Love it! Especially the eye.... I'm not sure I would have a steady enough hand to do that detailed work!
Re: pretty pony
Amazing... I can't begin to imagine how you make those little details - even the outlining of the teardrops!
Re: pretty pony
so when does your book come out? Even if you just made a 'home-made' book in a binder with each page I would buy it from ya... cant wait for the A-Z cheekart that I have been hearing about

Re: pretty pony
Amazing details and super cute! I am very new and would like to know if you dot with a brush or other tools? Thanks!

You said you did this one using only Snaz, right?
Yea, it was all Snaz.. and I took this pic right after I finished.. good thing cuz within 40 mins. the white dot in the pupil of the eye had come off and the whole thing has considerably faded.
Re: pretty pony
Yup....that is why I switched from all Snaz (my first kit) to primarily Paradise a few years back. The Snaz goes on great and you can get the same results as with other brands if used properly, but it just does not last on the skin......may be because I am in the hot, humid South, but it just dusts away and fades when it isn't melting off completely.
I only use 5 Snaz colors in my kit now. White, Red, Electric Blue, Sparkle Orange, and Sparkle Yellow. All of my other base colors are Paradise or Kryolan, and I use mostly Paradise (sometimes Wolfe) for linework.

What a pity!!! But at least, we can enjoy it for a long time!Ashley Pickin wrote:modernmagik wrote:Adorable as usual Ash.

Do you always dot with brush? Can you tell me which brand brush is your favorite? Do you use sable or synthetic? I am buying around, don't know which one to get. One day, I bought a winsor newton sable brush #6 and use it on a party, big disappointment, had to return it the next day. Thanks!

Re: pretty pony
I always dot with a brush.
I am pretty sure Ashley does too.
The type of brush you should use should not be based on what someone else uses, but rather on HOW YOU paint.
People with a very light touch can use sables with little to no effort at all and get phenomenal results.....I, personally, can't stand sables. But then again, I am very heavy handed, as I was born a sketch artist and am used to tightly gripping a pencil. So, I prefer to use synthetic brushes. My favorite are golden taklons with shorter handles and shorter bristles that have a nice point and a nice "spring" to them.

Thanks, modernmagik. You're right. I guess for people who can hold still, sable is good.
