Can anyone suggest where I can buy a long banner to go across the top of my tent? Like a 1ft x 6ft or something similar..

I got mine on www.vistaprint.com super cheap on one their 'specials'. I think it was about $12 because I wanted 'outdoor' material. I found a special with 'free' banner, uploads and shipping.

I have some banners from VistaPrint, but I couldn'tfigure out how to order a long skinny one, 1 x 6. Do they have this option?

I just cut off the bottom. I designed my own and uploaded the whole thing. the grommets are separate and you add them later youself.

If you're only looking for cheap, then cheap is all you'll get.

I'm going to invite you to peek at my flickr page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/11541338@N08/) and see that you can have gorgeous, professional banners for a lot less than you might think.

I would go to a local sign shop in your area. Then you skip the shipping and you can have the banner designed the way you want it, whether it's digitally printed or made with vinyl lettering.
You will get a quality banner that will last longer. You will pay more for it, but the life of it will be far longer than if you got one from vista print (they are REALLY cheap quality banners in comparison)
The BEST thing about that is, if you ever need anything in a hurry, you can probably get it, because they will keep your artwork on file.
