Problems with a website host, my response.. Empty Problems with a website host, my response..

Post by Ashley Pickin Sat Apr 24, 2010 9:23 am

So, as some of you saw on my Facebook, I've been having a lot of trouble with the hosting provider that I use for my website. I keep getting emails saying that I owe them $100, when really I paid it back on March 27th. They've already disconnected my site once, and this morning I got yet another email from the billing system. No kidding.

So here is my actual response to the owner, Michal.

"Howdy Michal.

How's the weather in Georgia? It's raining here in Virginia right now, kind of a crappy morning to wake up to. Especially since I run my own business and have to work outside today. Oh boy!

But do you know what sucks even more to wake up to? An email from the Cornerhost billing system stating that I STILL owe $100.00 on my account.

Most of the time, I'm okay when I see a bill. Some people sweat and freak out, but me? I think, oh yea, I thought that would be coming soon... But do you know what I think now that this is the THIRD time that I've seen this message from Cornerhosts' billing system? I'm thinking that it's time that I become active.

I feel like I am being lazy by just sitting here and allowing these emails to come to me. In fact, it's my duty to do something about it. Since my other emails and phone calls seem to not do any good, I have decided instead to start spreading the good word that is Cornerhost. That's why I'm thinking of starting www.cornerhostsucks.wordpress.com

I think that each post will be about one of my new billing emails and the hilarity that ensues. From the first one where I responded with a copy of the Paypal receipt, showing that the bill had been paid back in March, to the second one where I called you at 1 a.m. and demanded that you reactivate my website(after it had been deactivated for the late, non-existent bill.) All of the way up to where I start this website and describe my experience with your business, and how much I think everyone should avoid it, because of a third notice which I received this morning for the still non-existent bill.

Being a business owner yourself you must be thinking, 'wow, how is she going to find time for all of this?' Well Michal, I'll make the time, but I don't want to. I don't want to take the time to put this blog together and start posting it all over facebook and twitter and anywhere else I can think of. I'd prefer to spend my time giving my clients the best service that they can possibly receive so that they will return year after year to enjoy my services.

Please save me the trouble Michal, by fixing this little glitch in your billing system. I'd really appreciate it. Really.

Sincerely,

-Ashley Pickin- "

I plan on making the blog today after I'm done with work, whether he responds or not. My guess is that if I can send him 5 emails and leave two voice messages and he never bothers to reply, then he's probably not going to reply to this one either. Oh well. At least I'll be able to warn everyone else of the on coming danger.

Any other ideas of what to do?

I was just scrolling through old posts and saw this. I laughed out loud at your brilliantly funny letter Ashley! Although I can definitely imagine your frustration. So now I'm wondering, did they ever fix the billing problem, and did you ever start the blog? I hope it all worked out!
