welcome dpaulley63. lol, yes you do.
i'd recommend starting with a small palette of a professional brand of face paint and a few good brushes (small round, medium round, flat angle, large flat angle).
do a Google search for "face painting" and study the good designs. start with simpler ones. practice copying them.
do a YouTube search for "face painting tutorial" and watch videos on common brush strokes, as well as designs.
practice on yourself (arm, face), a practice board or head, or some kids. have fun
