I'm tallish- how do I work this?
I see a lot of painters working on kids on tall chairs. I'm thinking that they will be too low for me to paint comfortably without bending. Should I get a taller chair? Should I sit? I'm not hugely tall, just that everyone I know who paints is super short!

I'm 5'9" and prefer to sit. When I've tried standing, my table was too short and the kids were too low. I know some people who have taller tables and very tall chairs for the kids. You might have to try a couple of configurations to see what is best for you.

I actually built a stand to put my chair on. I'm taller than the normal painter at 6' and this reallllly helped me.

@Seanery
I would love to see a picture of your chair stand!
I am 5'9 and have been using a director's chair. But after two gigs, I am having back spasms from slightly leaning over and down. I've stopped lifting kids up and down, making them use a stool instead. I've been trying to think of how to raise up the chair.
@PaisleyPeacock the secret for the table is this magical thing:

Adjustable to counter height. Yes!
