Joining forces with other facepainters

Hi, I have a question, how do you/did you go about getting together with other face painters in your area to collaborate at events?
I am thinking about approaching other face painters in my area so that I, we can do larger events, but i am unsure on how to approach them and the subject of working together. Thanks

I approach face painters and invite them to Winky's Jam. Rose Winkworth (Winky the Clown) hosts a monthly jam for face painters, air brush artists, clowns, magicians, balloon twisters, and jugglers. We bring food, buy tickets for a 50/50 draw to try to help pay for the room, and share tips and tricks. If I teach somebody something, and they do it better than me... I have to get better, too! I love this!
There are a few that share the same agent as me, and we work together on large jobs. I call on them when I am already booked. I do not take a cut of their job... I simply pass it along to my peers. I get jobs back, too! I do not give jobs simply to get jobs... what goes around comes around, and I find myself surrounded by wonderful artists.

Thanks for the Advice. I will have to keep my ear to the ground to find out if there are any Jams near me, it sounds like fun!
