Brush questions

Hi guys
I'm currently building my kit as I'm relatively new to face painting, well I'm a returner to it and becoming obsessed!
I want to buy some Loew Cornell brushes as I hear they are good quality. The 7000C range seems to be more expensive, so I'm guessing better quality. What is the difference with the regular Loew Cornell brushes and the 7000C range?

Any other brushes you love to use? I hear Mark Reid brushes are pretty good to.

You will find all sorts of information about different brushes from different painters, as we are all, well.... different!
For me, the Loew Cornell 795 Gold Grips in sizes 3 & 4 are my work horses. I use them all the time for my line work. I adore the Loew Cornell 7000C brushes. They both have a permanent place in my brush addiction... um, I mean my brush assortment.
Attend your local jams and ask your fellow painters about their favourites. Try them out. See what the other painters use their brushes for, and how they use them. It will be really helpful for you, if you go into your Profile, above and type in your location. Local painters can notice you and invite you to their jams, and share jobs with you.

better brushes = better results

while good brushes won't take the place of practice and skill, they do add to the overall quality of your results. especially line work and details, which can make or break your design.

you want a brush that will keep a fine point or edge, and keep it's shape while you pull it across the skin, not flop around or splay out.

(speaking from experience trying to make cheap brushes do amazing things)

Yes i totally agree! I have 2 round brushes that are size 3's and they are my favourite for line work, but I'm keen to try a few more out.

Hahaha Fesspenter, i think i have read one of your past post's about your brush addiction...you have many many brushes so i remember! That's a great idea about the jam's. Fingers crossed there shall be some around me.

I was hired a few days ago to face paint at a local gym to celebrate their birthday. You know those days when you paint so well & everything you do just looks great, well it was one of those. It gets me so excited to do the next one!!!

I use the Loew Cornell Gold Grip Brushes, sizes #2, #3 and #4 but I rarely ever use the #3s... mostly only if I have to use a color that's not white or black... I recently bought a #1 finally as I wanted one for finer detail.

I love these brushes but they're also all I really know when it comes to rounds so I can't say what's best, etc...

Totally agree with previous comments. You need good brushes to get good results. So try to buy good quality affordable brush rather than the low quality cheaper one.
