ISO ZeroG set up
Looking to upgrade current Airbrush set up W/ ZeroG II, Stencils, System etc.... PM me with what you have.
Re: ISO ZeroG set up
Dear Greybeard:
The answer depends upon what you want to use your airbrush FOR.
What set up do you currently have?
I have tried the ZeroGII set up at a fellow airbrush artists' event, and I feel that I have much more control with my Iwata Eclipse for line work while body painting. You will receive different answers because there is not one right answer.
Where are you from?
If you go into your Profile, above, and type your general location, you may be able to connect with other airbrush artists in your general locale, and they can let you look, compare, try.

Re: ISO ZeroG set up
I have the Pro Aiir Paints and 12 Paasche External mix H series airbrushes. With this setup I am getting clogging after only one face painted. It is driving me nuts. I need a system with as few parts as possible (less to go wrong) the ZeroG II looks like that sys.

Re: ISO ZeroG set up
I believe that Jody Rife on our Forum has a ZeroG II system. I would private message her and ask questions regarding the airbrushes.
Where, exactly, in the gun, is a clog occurring in an external mix?
I have had a black Proaiir in one gun for five hours during a competition and absolutely no clog until the very end. The clog was due to my using cotton pads to wipe out the cup and I created a clog in the nozzle, just before the mixing chamber.
Fellow Forum members???
Can you help Greybeard out?
I do know that if an internal mix airbrush has been used for silicone based HD makeup... you will get a big, snotty clog when the silicone combines with hybrid, water, or alcohol based paints. You can ultrasonic clean your guns until the cows come home and there will always be a little silicone remaining to cause a clog. I am unfamiliar with external mixing brushes as I have always used an internal mix airbrush.

Re: ISO ZeroG set up
Dear Greybeard:
I have never used an external mix before.
So I am troubleshooting something I am only guessing about...
Is this a double action, or single action?

Re: ISO ZeroG set up
blast caps?
I run Alcohol through them and then use an ultrasonic. Very simple to break down there is one alen head screw in the bottom, loosen it and the needle drops out.

Re: ISO ZeroG set up
You are doing the cleaning correctly.
Do you use 70%, 91%, or 99%?
In my ultrasonic...
I fill it a little over half way with distilled water, and then I place the broken apart gun in 99% alcohol in a Tupperware container inside the ultrasonic container. The heat cycle works wonders.
I only place lube on the tip of the needle.
Too much lube can also cause a problem.
Sean Avram noticed that, and I am quoting him...
"Airbrush artists can be assholes" (When you ask them questions.) Sean wisely shares anything you ask about. I think they are worried about someone coming up on their heels. I share any information I may know.

This thread should be bumped.
There are plenty of trouble shooting threads in the archives.
