What a cute idea for placement! I have never seen/thought of that and hate trying to do it on the cheek! Thanks!

Love the design, I agree with the creative placement.

What colour/brand did you use for the mermaid skin tone?

Thank you! Yes I was trying to think of something that could cover the whole face and position Ariel in the right place. This design worked well around a small face. I totally understand about cheek designs and try very rarely to offer them as I see it as a waste of space on the face! This design did take a little longer so I would probably not use it at a party unless I had a lot of time to spare. I didn't have skin colour tone paint so I used Paradise orange and mixed that with a little bit of Snazaroo white. Keep mixing it until you find the right colour.

Hope that helps! Very Happy

i've seen that mermaid design before, i believe the original is from amanda's elaborate eyes, at least according to the copyright on the watermark -

another cute one, is apink one with rainbow eyes, which is hard to duplicate (!), by the painted otter -

It's a Pashur design...at least it's very similar. From a class I took from him in 2011.

Thank you for all your input! However I didn't say I came up with the entire design myself I adapted the design to create a different look. I stated "I would like to share with everyone a design i did using Ariel the little mermaid". I came up with the entire other side myself to match it. Maybe next time I will do my research and acknowledge others so other people don't have a problem! How about all the other butterflies and tigers out there people adapt I don't think people acknowledge every single person?? I took my time writing a blog when I didn't have to. In the future if I know the persons name I will be sure to add there names.

Thank you Smile

thanks, denise.

kay - it's common courtesy to give credit to others for specific designs such as this mermaid pose. i have literally looked at every face paint design on google images over the past few years, and i have only seen one image of this mermaid design, compared to dozens or hundreds of butterflies, tigers, dinosaurs, etc.

I have found over the years that seldom does inspiration only get given to one person...we feed on each others', true--but often similar ones crop up unexplainedly.

Months ago a friend taught me a similar crown to what won the FPF Frozen competition. (Not in the same state, nor has she posted any photos, etc.---).

I was considering entering the contest, using it, but I was too late.

Sometimes, it just happens...
