Are my paints still ok? Empty Are my paints still ok?

Last time I used my paints (about 6 months ago), I raced home due to an emergency and my paints and brushes just got shoved in the cupboard without being cleaned.  Would they still be safe to use?  I know I can sterilise the brushes and replace the sponges but I'm really worried about using the paints.

if they look and smell ok, they should be fine (as in, no visible mold or slime, and no mildew/rotten smell. i have face paints i use for practice that i bought almost a year and a half ago, and they are still fine.

Thanks, no smell, no yucky stuff. Given then a clean up and letting them dry out.

Ten plus years ago I took a class from the infamous Bill Stewart who does makeup and costuming with the San Francisco opera among other productions. He had Kryolan Aquacolor in his kit that was then 25 years old. As a skilled professional his kit is kept clean but certainly well used. Face Painting makeup can last quite a while!

Your paints should be just fine--though if you're concerned, MakeUpMania.com sells a makeup sanitizing spray that can be used to keep all kinds of makeup clean.
