Cheer Competition
I've been asked if I want to do ppf at a cheerleading competition. The question is do I want to do ppf at a cheerleading competition? I do if I'll make money but I don't know anything about cheer competitions. Can any of you guys shed some light on this subject for me?

Re: Cheer Competition
I coach high school cheerleading (non-competitive) but have been to several competitions. If it is a good turnout, there would be lots of families, with siblings of competitors and extended family coming to watch their cheerleader's team compete, so in that case it could be a good venue to try. On the other hand, if it is a smaller event, or a competition that is local only (as opposed to a regional or national event) you'll likely get less faces to paint. If it's close by and doesnt conflict with other scheduled events, might be worth trying to see how it goes! Good luck.
Re: Cheer Competition
Well it's a Big 10 competition and all the competing schools are in my serving area. Setup is only $20 so if nothing else it's cheaper than other forms of advertising. I think I'll order some glitter tattoos and learn to paint the school mascots.

Re: Cheer Competition
Sounds like a good plan a Big 10 comp likely has a solid family draw - quick mascots and glitter tats would be solid choices. Also a great venue to promote your biz
Re: Cheer Competition
sounds like nothing to lose and good exposure like you said

Re: Cheer Competition
Outcome: Total Bust! Everyone was too focused on the competition at hand.

Re: Cheer Competition
Bummer! I would have thought siblings not cheering (bored out of their mind) and parents wanting team color bling would have kept you hoppin'!
Re: Cheer Competition
ooh, sorry to hear that. were they preoccupied before the action got going, too? i.e. if you were there ahead of time, you think would there be people & interest?

Re: Cheer Competition
Well the crazy thing was on a Wednesday night so there was no "ahead of time". They let everyone in at 4. The whole thing was weird. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean a different competition wouldn't work for someone else.

Re: Cheer Competition
I have done cheer comps with great results. Of course every one will be run differently. Do not rule our cheer comps or cheer teams. Do homework on the varied teams and their colors and or mascots.
