Question and opinions on Crowd Funding

So- without boring you with a LOT of detail, I have a chance to open a body paint/art gallery and studio in a super busy tourist retail area in Florida.

I have wanted/ needed/ to make a big change in my job/work situation and this is the golden opportunity to save my life and sanity- of or course make a giant flop but let's not go there.

Unfortunately, I have to come up with a lot of deposits and insurance etc in a really short amount of time- Given 6 months I could do it easily... given 4 weeks not so much.

So... I am considering using Indie go go or Kickstarter to try to put it out there and see if any of those within my network can help get this off the ground.

Does anyone here have any experience with either of those and if so, do you have any suggestions, information or warnings to impart? Thanks in advance.

I would definitely contact the owners of GalleryML in Philly who went through that process. I'm sure they could provide a lot of insight!
