Hi, everyone! I'm Laura from SC. My husband and I were, until recently, over the road truck drivers lol. I know, not very girlie but the money was great. We decided to come off the road about a month ago so my husband could start his own business so that left me with a ton of time on my hands. I've always LOVED nail art but being gone all the time, I never had time to really practice. I decided to go to nail school to get licensed and pursue something I loved for a living once the hubby's business became stable. the meantime, I was practicing my tail off to become as well rounded an artist as possible. Part of being a well rounded nail artist is one stroke painting. (If you've never seen this done, check out "Cutenails" on YouTube, she's amazing!) Anyway, I was on Donna Dewberry's sight which led to another site which led me to Lisa Joy Young painting her pretty face. I was instantly fascinated! I watched every one of her videos and began researching face paint products. Within a few days I decided to start with a Wonder Pallet from Sillyfarm and one Arty Cake. That was it. I'm hooked! Now I'm a FabaTV subscriber and I paint on anything that will sit still. I knew I could draw a little but I've never painted anything in my life. I was super shocked at what I was able to create and how, if you choose the right tool, sometimes the work is done for you. I've been practicing every single day and watching all the amazing artists on YouTube and FabaTV has been priceless. I'm dedicating as much time and money as I possibly can in order to, one day, make a modest living from this amazing art form. I've been pleasantly surprised at the sharing of knowledge and the amount of support that's offered within this community and I'm happy to now consider myself a part of it. I only wish I could've discovered this sooner so I could be at FABAIC this weekend. That would be an amazing experience for someone just starting out! Well, that's all about me. I look forward to learning from you all. Cheers!
