Logo Ideas-whatcha think?

Hey everybody,

So I did a little sketching today, and I came up with something that I'd love to have your feedback and critique on, if you all would be so kind as to indulge me!

Since the company name is Black Cat Face Painting, I wanted to devise a logo that incorporated a cat, but in a simple, graphic kind of way. I also came up with the idea that his tail is a paintbrush, which could either be poised in midair or have a trail of paint from the top of the "t" in the word cat, as if the company name was written by the cat-tail-paintbrush.  I redrew the kitty to about two inches high, and he was still very noticeably a kitty, which is good.

I'm pretty open as far as typography goes, although I'd prefer to stay away from anything too whimsical or wispy. I like clean and bold. I haven't really started looking at possible font styles yet.

Let me know what you think, and please, don't be afraid to speak your mind! I am open to any and all criticism, and I truly do appreciate everyone who takes the time to look! Thank you!!

I like the 2nd sketch, maybe make the word face painting fill the spot under the "B" as well to make it look more even.

Cool beanie weenies! Thank you very much for taking the time to look, everybody. So just to clarify: the logo design is the business name plus the kitty. The first sketch is simply a component of the overall logo, I included it so you could really get an idea of the concept of the paintbrush tail. Hope that helps.

Thank you for that suggestion! I am going to redraw it with the lettering aligned at the left side and see how that looks.
