I am new to this board/forum and forums in general
Hey, I'm trying to spread my wings and I flew to this forum. New to forums in general. Whats taboo? What's okay? I'm looking for information on going to a convention. I've never been to a face painting or clown convention and I'm going to Vegas in February. Sooooo excited, but have no idea what to expect. Totally psyched about the all star teachers scheduled...I hope I'm able to get into some of the highly popular classes... Will be coming in from St. Louis...midwest meets midWOW. Does Vegas have any idea about what's about to hit them? Anyone going or been before can share some words of wisdom....Thanks, Maureen

Hi and welcome. It is an open group I think, haven't really come across any taboos. Metina?
Thanks for the "welcome"
Thanks for all the "welcomes". Fun to see so many talented folks come together to share and help one another!

Welcome to the group! I've learned so much here, you'll love it. I've never been to a convention, but will be going to FABIAC in May, but New Orleans is also callin my name for March, so I don't know!!! I doubt I can afford both so close together.
Metina has an Important: Please Read post I think. She funds this forum through selling her wares through the forum shop. She has respectfully asked for no blatant advertising. But, is completely cool with asking where to find something if you happen to be looking. Know what I mean?
Also, everyone is very supportive and nice here.... even if they do things a different way. Not all forums are like that.
So, speak up, join the challenges, ask questions, and have a ball!

Hi Maureen! Welcome!
This is a great place to learn and grow your skills.
But a convention is like warp drive learning and exposure. Sure to blow your mind and kick start your passion! My short advice is pack light, leave room for goodies to bring home, mini setup and a few brushes and sponges is all you really need and comfy clothes. Do be sure to rest or sleepas much as poss before the event. Challenge yourself to be brave and network, jam, volunteer to be painted or compete for the fun of it. You will go home with new skills, goodies, friends and an amazing memorable experience!!
