Sugar skull attempt
Hey All,
After viewing numerous tutorials, and having nothing to do today, I attempted my first Sugar Skull (YAY).
I did it on myself so I know my eye circles are not exactly symmetrical, but I am kinda stoked by it. It has a little LJY inspiration plus a little from Google examples. I could not decide what to do with the chin, so I just left it alone until I find what I like. Feel free to critique!!!!!!!

I like it! The eyes are hard on your own face, but I think you did very well. I like that the nose is a spade too! Very cool.
Re: Sugar skull attempt
Thanks, it tickles me that I could do it to myself. I am very limited on colors so finding what looks good together is an issue. It seems like most of the ones I see have a bold metallic eye/circles over the eye combo and I have no metallics or glitter colors so I have to mix metallic white to get that look. Anybody got good color combo suggestions?
I have snazz blue, red, green, yellow, pink, sea blue, and turquoise
I have fab lilac and silver
I have paradise orange, light blue, and purple
I have Wolfe metallic white
I have a few rainbows but they won't work

Re: Sugar skull attempt
It may seem like a lot, but when they are laid out in front of you, it looks sorta pathetic. Especially compared to other kits I have seen lol. It's just if I mix metallic white and turquoise to make the circles, I am scratching my head to find a color that looks good to line around it. I am not friends with the color wheel to find colors that compliment each other.
Re: Sugar skull attempt
Thanks, I really like them so I hope to find more willing victims to practice on.
Re: Sugar skull attempt
I love doing sugar skulls.. Face painting by Brenda- she is a beast with sugar skulls..she's on Facebook and IG. I could do those all day...and yours looks AWESOME! Its always better to leave alone what you don't know what to do with then putting something that'll mess it up..I have to make that mistake multiple times.. Happy painting
