Re: Face painting sticks question
I am not sure, but I don't think so.
The material is quite different in my experience.

Huh. Maybe try if you can mold them without melting them? Melting seems like a bad idea, nnot sure if it would change the paint
Re: Face painting sticks question
I just re-thought this idea....and I'm sitting here bumping my brain...duh! Sticks aren't water activated!!! Dumb! I feel quite stupid now...lol

Re: Face painting sticks question
PLUS you would want to check the sticks. Cheap paint is being marketed as 'facepaint' in dollar stores and fly by night Halloween makup. Picked up a package th other day of stacked 'vampire face' makeup kit. On the back it stated something to the effect of 'do not use on face, not a cosmetic product, do not use red near eyes or mouth'. Say what?!?!
The crayons are questionable from some companies too. NOT all...but don't even like using the safe ones actually!!! LOL How does this stuff ever get in the stores?!?! Makes one go wtf??

Re: Face painting sticks question
I like the sticks for fun face painting....but I think that's the difference between face painting for fun, and professional face painting.
the sticks are wax based.so yes, they "melt" down, but not the way you are hoping.
I use them for kids playing around in the sun when i'm not getting paid....to do fun stuff like a cute little princess tiara, some sports lines under the eye, maybe a heart or some sport numbers, and some basic shapes and stars.
just purely for the fun of drawing stuff on people
the medium is so horrible, nobody really can get great art out of it...that's part of the fun though, to see who can do the best job with it.
still, I wouldn't recommend it in a working kit.
I do, however, keep a few glow in the dark paint sticks.....I add glowing highlights over my work sometimes, depending on the venue and time of day.

Re: Face painting sticks question
When I purchased the wolfe kits at Walmart in clearance they had some metallic ones in them and the colors were creamy and beautiful, now they are not like what we use, nor would I use them, but I couldn't throw them away
Re: Face painting sticks question
Maybe you can melt them in the microwave and use for hair as they use chalk, I have some I am gonna try it.
