Who's going to the Convention in Manchester CT?
Happy New Year guys!
I was wondering who is headed to Kim Hatch's convention this month in Connecticut?
I decided (at the last minute) to go & also take Mark Reid's pre-convention class.
Can't wait, I've never taken one of Mark's classes.
I've never been to that convention, have any of you all been there?
Wish I could stay and take the classes on Sunday, but have to drive back home that day.
Just wanted to know who from this forum may be going?

I might go for 1 of Pashur's classes I have to see what work looks like this week and what I can pull of around my jobs. January is a hard money month for me. I have to restock all my paints this month too after the holidays- I will let you know if I am going to be able to swing it.

Linda, You will love Mark Reid. He is an incredible teacher and his teaching doesn't end with the class. You can ask him questions for years after and he is ready and willing to help. It's like having an instructor for life. His classes are awesome, you will learn so much. Good decision to go!
I'm going to Kapital Kidvention in Springfield Va the end of Jan. Then in March, my plans are to go to LaFete.
Where is everyone else going to for conventions and workshops this year?

Ct. is just too far away, I have to plan way ahead for travel.
It would be great if there was a calendar of all of these events. It's almost like festivals, you have to spend your first year or so documenting what's around and when so you'll know for next year. Um... is there a listing in Trainings/Classes section, and I'm not remembering?
So for future reference, who is Kim Hatch and is there a website to this convention? Does she hold it every year? I would love to plan a whole year of traveling next year!

I wish I could go! Alas, money is an issue. Next year possibly?

Jennifer,
Kim Hatch is "Chit Chat the Clown" and I'm not sure how many years she's been doing this convention, but I've wanted to go for the last 2.
Here's her website : http://www.chitchattheclown.com/
It's a small convention, maybe 100 people, and really great instructors!(some that aren't going to be in Orlando this year even)
The convention info is on her website. Her cost is $130 for 4 days of classes, you just can't beat that ANYWHERE! Then you can purchase extra classes like I'm doing for Mark Reid's pre-convention all day class.
I'll be sure to post my review and photos when I get back.
I decided to go to this convention because it is a "dead" time of year for me so I won't miss any jobs. I also may not get to go to Orlando this year either.

Good thought on the calendar. I believe there is a way to put a calendar on here. Let me check it out!
Re: Who's going to the Convention in Manchester CT?
Calendar is now operational and linked to upcoming events. Click on the button at the top of the forum that says "calendar". It also posts birthdays. We all have to play around with it a bit just to figure out how it works.
Click the #1 at the botton right corner of the date to add and event. Training, jams, conventions anything with a date that would benefit others from know is fine.
