Early to rise...
Last week I woke up every morning at 4:30 or 5. This morning I was up before 4! I have had lots of new paintings scheduled and it seems on the nights before I have something fun to paint,I wake up super early. My mind just buzzes with all of the things I need to do so I just get up! I have a feeling I will eventually run out of steam and crash.
Is anyone else like this? Or am I just a bit off my rocker? My brother says it is because I am getting old, I just reminded him that he will always be older. ;)I will be like this when it is time for my 2 favorite festivals to come around. I guess it's like a kid the night before Christmas. How cool is it to have a job that you look so forward to that you can't even sleep?

Re: Early to rise...
Dear Jody:
I am face painting at an 18 day event beginning August 16. I work from 11am until 7pm. The night before opening day, I couldn't get to sleep until after midnight. I woke up at 4:30am.
I go to bed thinking about the day, seeing designs done that day in my head and try to think about how to improve them. I woke up at 4:15am on Sunday.
I slept in until 6:00am this morning. I was up until 1:00am cleaning my director's chair and then washing sponges.
I feel like every day is Saturday. I can't wait to get up and get to work. My team is a dream to work with. Nobody wants to take a break, ever. We all love what we do. I have to blackmail them into taking a break by telling them that I cannot take a break until THEY take a break. I have alarms set on my phone to remind us to drink water every hour, to take breaks. We all love what we are doing. My team is always early for their shift. I send them out to explore the fairgrounds, and they still come back early.
I love this.
Happy, Joyous Painting!

Oh Lisa, that made me smile. It is so wonderful to hear how people are enjoying their jobs. I bet you all have so much fun on that job. I know it must be a tremendous undertaking for all of you and very tiring, but still very exciting!
I hope you have a great day today, with no nutbar lady! LOL

Dear Jody Rife:
While the NutBar Lady takes up too much of my brain and emotions sometimes.....
Her antics make the best stories!
NutBar Lady also makes me think of other ways to protect myself, protect my staff, protect my kit from future NutBar tirades/NutBar tirades/ NutBar diarrhea on my chair. I used to get NutBar Lady more frequently in the beginning of my Face Painting Adventure. Now, it seems NutBar lady likes to wait until the end of the day to show herself.
Best.
Stories.
Ever.
Thank you, NutBar Lady!
Can't wait to see what you are up to today!
Happy, Happy Painting!

Re: Early to rise...
LOL, I understand. My kids always say, "Did anything exciting happen today???" when I get home. They are just hoping that I have a juicy story to tell them. Yes ,nutbar lady has strengthened me and taught me much also.
Re: Early to rise...
Lisa,
I am taking medication that makes me dream in the most vivid colors and sound imaginable.
Obviously,
You do too.
That can't be real.
If it were real,
I'd be jealous.

Re: Early to rise...
I think people take drugs to see the things I see when I close my eyes after a day if face painting.
I see the most beautiful colour combinations.
If I could recreate what I see in my dreams.... I would impress the snot out of myself.
Then, I wake up.
At least I have something to aim for!!!
