Using other people's work without permission??
I'm posting this, ONLY to ask if anyone knows who this particular artist is (S.Hodges 2007..?) - or if she is on this forum anywhere??
As some might have known already = my books of my personal hand-drawn designs were stolen from me last summer (i noted this on another post somewhere on here...over 200 hand drawn designs...i'm just sick about it..but someone's gonna have it coming to them!)...I'm keeping a watchful eye out, for other newbie face painters who are using pictures from other face painters' work, and trying to pose it as their own.
There's a fairly new lady on facebook, who is stating a bunch of pictures are her own concoctions, when in truth, they have someone else's copyright on them...and others of which i recognize to be NOT hers...
Just wondering if anyone knew this lady..or her work....I think she has a right to know pictures of her work, with her copyright are being used NOT by her!

Sharon Hodges is a fairly well known and talented painter in Texas - I think in Dallas but not 100% sure. Used to work with Mark Reid years ago when he was first becoming known.

Shannon - do you think it's right to be using other's copyrighted work, and stating its your own??

If they are using her photos yes it it wrong, but it is up to the owner of the photos to deal with it. She is on Facebook, why not send her the link?

It is not ok to use other people's pictures as a representation of ones own work. There are tons of threads on here about that. It's a misrepresentation...
Look through the search for 'stolen pictures' and the like. You'll get an idea.

If you can't find them (or anyone is interested) Here's a few stolen picture links below.
In the first one, Shannon explains how to search google images to find your own hijacked pictures.

http://www.facepaintforum.com/t11199-should-i-say-something-possible-stolen-photos

http://www.facepaintforum.com/t8928-stolen-pictures-anyone-recognize-something
http://www.facepaintforum.com/t12193-stolen-photos
It's best to notify the painter and let them take care of it, instead of a "gang" (as you might see it got pretty hot in some threads) and if you don't know the painter yourself, it is nice to handle like you did here: ask if anyone knows, because usually someone does and can notify them.

Wow..this is the 2nd time I heard something not right about s.h.. No bueno!!!
Re: Using other people's work without permission??
The painter that is using her pictures has them directly on her fb acct..even comments saying that it's her picture and not SH's! I've caught people stealing my photos before....and I got pretty pissed alright. Especially when's copyright is on it..and someone else says it's theirs.....um hello, dummy! Lol
