First ppf, nervous!!
I have my first market stall today, so nervous! I've trawled the forum and gathered lots of advice, so I feel prepared, I'm just worried no one will want to pay to get painted - I've done events where the organiser pays me hourly, but this is my first ppf. On the flip side, I'm also worried ill have a line that's too long or ill run out of paint!
I realise I'm not being logical, and over thinking it etc, as usual
Fingers crossed it goes well, if it does I can buy a FabaTV subscription, yay!

You'll be fine! You are a great painter. Work in your own speed/pace. If they like your painting they will wait! Have lots of fun.

Re: First ppf, nervous!!
Thanks girls. Well unfortunately there was hardly any kids. I painted at least 80% of the kids that came through, so I suppose looking at it that way I did we'll. But after stall fees I only made an $8 profit :/
Next time I do a ppf Ill choose something more like a fair, this was an art/craft market so I suppose it wasn't my target audience. I did some good networking though, with an events manager and a lady that hires out lolly carts, so hopefully something comes of that.
Oh and my 'accountant' (my partner the accounting student lol) says I can still get the Faba subscription

Painting 80% of the kids is great! Unfortunately there where not so many kids. But i guess this is also a thing we have to learn, where to go to make good money. Hope your next ppf wil be crowded with kids And great to hear you're still getting the Faba subscription.

Re: First ppf, nervous!!
I did my first PPF gigs this spring as well. Did fair at the first 2 and great at the 3rd. Totally depends on your event! Great job!

Re: First ppf, nervous!!
I have only done a PPF at an arts/ crafts markets and it was very similar to your, except that I painted maybe 8 kids in 4 hours! There were hardly any kids and the ones that were there went to the free kids activity stall then came to me asking why I wasn't free? I was disappointed but at least experienced the set up take down and knowing where to set things up.
I guess every event is a leaning experience, and it's good that you got a little networking in.

Re: First ppf, nervous!!
I was pretty down when I got home, but boyf is good at the whole positive spin thing so he pointed out the percentage thing and the networking but yeah it was 6 hours and only 8 kids painted, the same as your experience silver sky! Only I didn't have any freebies to compete with at least, that'd suck. I also spent $3 on THE BEST CALE EVER from the stall next to me, can't resist sugary goodness when I'm bored lol!
Jen you have to get a subscription! I only got a monthly one, I've only watched one video so far but have already learnt heaps. I suppose that shows how much I have to learn lol. Oh and I've thought up a mermaidish design for the fb tutorial page by the way Jen, just have to find a victim to paint it on

Cake! Not cale!! Stupid auto correct is obviously trying to tell me to stop being a fatty haha
Re: First ppf, nervous!!
80% is great when you look at it that way!! Yeah, those types of events can either be awesome or totally dead...it is SO hard to tell if you haven't been there before. I've done a few duds like that (profit-wise). If you can get even one or two other gigs from it though, that really helps justify the time! Nowadays I just don't try to get into an event with ppf unless I have attended it in the past and know there will be a lot of kids.
