Hello from North Carolina!
Hi gang! Heard about the forum while watching Lisa Joy Young on youtube. I just started face painting last year, I don't practice as much as I should because of budget, but I'm hoping to order some more paints soon so that will change. I did costumes and special effects/gore makeup including life casting, sculpting, appliances for the past 10 years. Just had a parent ask me one day to paint at their kid's party, so I grabbed some majorly craptastic "face paint" from Walmart lol. I should have known it was garbage when A. It came from Walmart and B. it was goo in little jars.
After that debacle I bought the basic DFX palette that has 12 colors. That's all I've been using for the past year, but now people are starting to ask for gigs so I'm ordering some metallic colors and some more basic colors. If anyone has a suggestion for a super bright yellow let me know, I'm not thrilled with the Diamond FX yellow. Only other issue I've had is with the Snaz white... it seems to need more water then any of my DFX paint. Seems like its a thick clay that dries almost instantly on me =( Going to grab some Wolfe white which should take care of that problem.
I've been working with one number 3 brush that came out of a $2 pack of brushes from Walmart lol... so my line work isn't the best. But figure I'll post a couple pics anyway. Of course all of these designs I just found doing search on Google... so nothing fancy... yet
This guy lost a bet to a girl... she ended up adding lipstick to him after I was finished lol.
Tried doing some blending... can't afford those nice rainbow cakes yet. It was clearly someone's nap time.
