Canada Haunt Body Painting in Hamilton, Ontario

I entered my first body painting competition this weekend in Hamilton, Ontario for the Canadian Haunted Attractions Convention. The judges were Shelley Summers of Dotsy the Clown, Matthew Flagler of Canada Haunts, and Nick Wolfe of, well, you know.
I felt scared every day leading up to the competition.
Nick Wolfe taught a class the day before the convention, and I was able to attend his class. I made sure I asked no direct questions regarding the competition, since he was a judge of the contest. I met the fabulous Elaine Day, who has a belly bump of a Phoenix published in the latest Illusion Magazine. Elaine was competing the next day, too. Elaine told me to relax and have fun. I went to bed scared, with my chest feeling so tight. My family has not had a dining room table as I have been creating an elaborate headdress for the competition.
I woke up the next morning feeling calm and refreshed. Thank you for your words of wisdom, Elaine Day!
There were 14 teams competing. I was in awe of the work going on around me. I created a Northern Black Widow Spider. The following four pictures were taken an hour before the end of the competition. I will have to try to find out how to load more pictures from my iPad to this column.
The three winners were awesome.
I was so honored to compete against some truly great body painters.

Wow fesspenter, that is an awesome monster body paint. Great job, looks so creepy!!! beautiful colours.

WOW fesspenter, wish I entered then. They emailed me a while ago so I was I had it in my calendar yet a ton of jobs came up, so I worked instead but sure would of been nice to hang out with you all day. Bummer. Nice work wowzers what a superstar. I knew Laura the winner as well worked with her a few times. All together great work. give me a dingle to talk about the experience, I would of been nervous as well.
