This is the current cover of Connoisseur. I believe it's a painting... cool... BUT...the face painting job?...

Maybe she painted this herself, the little girl?!

Cool painting. Looks like the "reveal" face when the kid sees themselves in a mirror. To me the quality of the facepainting is of no consequence...it's the capture of a magical moment for the child.
But that said, yes, the facepainting was obviously done by someone without much experience.
Goes to show that the kids are impressed even when we don't think we've done our best!!

Probably painted from a photo... nice job. And for a beginner butterfly...? Not that bad - two sets of wings, doesn't cover the entire face...

What I do like about it is it that the face painting strokes are captured perfectly and look so authentic. (Obviously there was too much water to paint ratio!)

I had a big discussion with a man in a restaurant in Buffalo last night where I had dinner before coming home from my gig. He had this magazine on the counter when I was paying my bill. Obviously it is about the painting itself and not the face painting. Since I am an artist in other mediums, I "get it"
