Body Painting Practice Empty Body Painting Practice

Post by MandiIlene Sat Nov 21, 2009 12:08 pm

So I am always completely jealous of the Wolfe Brothers amazing abilities to blend colors with no lines and their body paintings with the brightest colors imaginable. One day I would like to compete at FABAIC!!

Here is a pic of my latest practice, please critique, I am still having trouble blending the colors seamlessly.

We have a annual Valentine's Day event here called nude nite and Nick Herrara paints at it live. It is an entire art show centered around nudes. So there is nude sculpture, photography, artwork, naked sushi, nude models posing while artist sketch/sculpt them right there. It was amazing. After my fiance and I walked around a bit looking at the 2-d works, there were 3 body painters painting live, an Absinthe Bar with the bartenders painted with the logos and green flames, etc. There were performances acrobatic style of body painted models. I was amazed! I was thinking of submitting a 2D piece of artwork with a photo like this at the center of canvas then a collage of more things/paint around it. Haven't figured it all out yet. But this is the start. I was going for a "Women from Man" type of thing.

Thanks guys, fortunately I have a fiance that is still willing to please me by letting me paint (and shave a little. . .shhh!) him!

I wish I had a venue to do the full painting sometime, but without a professional photographer on hand, the practice just isnt worth it that much to do at home.

There is a benefit for MAC Aids foundation in Orlando on monday, I am going to go and assist the 15 body painters that are going to be doing models for a party that evening at the Blue Martini! How cool is that?!?
I can't wait! I will be taking plenty of pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving all! I am having a true Florida holiday, as all the kids are in the pool right now, my youngest son's B-day is today, he's 5. We are visiting my family in Naples!
