Rainbow heart
Every time I paint, I get at least one request for a rainbow heart. It seems like the simplest thing ever, but I cannot figure out how to do a) the heart from a rainbow or split cake and b) how to incorporate it into a design. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Rainbow heart
Linda Schrenk has a perfect one. I know she's on data vacation so hopefully she won't mind me posting this:
Re: Rainbow heart
You could also do a variation on the rose crown with hearts in the middle and side and a rainbow connector:

Step-by-step Rose tutorial
Sure but my youtube tutorial is small roses with a filbert so they are a little different than that one (would actually be better on small faces! ) I do have step-by-step photos...let me see if I can pic monkey them. Shawna D. has a great youtube tutorial on full sized roses. She does them a lot like I do.

Re: Rainbow heart
Thanks for the ideas, guys. I love Linda's design, but I just can't seem to get the heart right. OTOH, Denise, I can now paint a rose!

When doing "The Linda":
- Break it down into making a c shape with a brush. Then make a second "c" stroke.
- 2 tricks I had to learn the hard way: 1) a 4 color rainbow is easier for this than a 6 color 2) neons and pearl rainbows are impossible to use for this. The neons are too sheer and mush, and the pearls tend to be too soft and so they mush.

Re: Rainbow heart
I use a sponge and a rainbow cake, this one is a pearl rainbow that I did two years ago. You could even do this as a one-stroke with a one-inch brush and a small one-stroke rainbow cake like Linda has done (via Denise's post). Tamarial is right, it's much harder to do this with one-stroke neons. I think pearls are also harder, but easier than neons for sure.
