How to get rid of non-selling designs Empty How to get rid of non-selling designs

Post by Faces by Ainslie Mon Dec 03, 2012 2:28 am

I have about 20 designs that I want to get rid of on my board that just dont' sell. I have a "sale" on at the moment where they are reduced greater than the others and I am offering only one colour choice so they are quick.

Any other suggestions about how to get rid of them quickly (perhaps they need even more reduction). Normal price $8 unlimited colours, sale $5 one colour.

I thought maybe 2 for $8 or $5 each??

Maybe they sell well for others here and you could swap? Or just sell them in the swap shop...

Use them for freebies---walking advertisements to start your PPF stuff!

I am confused--

are you talking about paints? You can list them in the sell/swap---or give them to me Wink

If you are talking about s design, like one on your board--don't you just take the picture down and use hte paint colors for another desig?

I am a newbie--can't you tell Smile

I have a print out banner, so I tried to print a picture of the same size of a new design and stick it to the banner with tape, I will never have a print out banner anymore, I prefer the pockets where you can change pictures easily.

If you really want to just get rid of them, reduce it to just $2-$3. Enough to cover the cost of glitter/glue/stencil. It's better than throwing them away.

I also have a "discount" for my designs that don't sell. I find that even with the discount, parents can rarely talk their kids or each other into them! I would have never thought those designs would have been so unpopular.

Use them at birthday parties, don't bring the others, just the low selling ones.

I have a "mini-combo-party" where I do 30 minutes of face painting and 30 minutes of "select glitter designs".

Loosely translated that's a euphemism for "I bring what didn't sell at my last two big events".

I offer them free as well. We all love something free and usually leads to something else.

I've been thinking about this today while mowing my lawns, and i've come to the conclusion that if I were to get something on my body that would stay there on display for a whole week, I'd want what I wanted and nothing else, too. Smile You wouldn't talk me into "something else because it's cheaper".

I guess if they don't even go when they're free? Bite the bullet and write them off into the garbage and get them out of your sight. Not a great solution financially, but out of sight out of mind.

Just curious, what designs are they? I have noticed that regionally they may be in demand somewhere else? (If you need Green Lantern, I have 'em---but can't keep batman in stock, etc.)

I'm also very curious about which glitter tattoos aren't selling.

My Twilights don't sell. I have some other designs that sit on the display board forever, and then one day, boom. Someone asks for it!

Gilded Cat, this is so interesting! I looked at your link, and almost all of it is the same for me (for the designs I have that you also have - I took one look at the Sponge Bob stencil online and knew I could NEVER deal with it in a crowded situation! Very Happy ).

However, the Dora stencil is such a hit here (New York area), that I do some every festival. Not the MOST popular, but I DO have to contend with those bits, because it gets picked at every event.

I also have had no luck with the footprints, except for one funny incident: at a festival this summer, a dad returned to my booth after I'd painted his son, and asked to have a footprint tattooed on each of his (the dad's) hands. It turns out his last name is Foote. I ran into him again at another festival and will always know him by name ...
