Just wanting to see some different ideas on how you stow your stick on gems that come on a sheet. Thanks

I have a net zipper pouch (envelope-like) that I stash mine in.

I keep my gems in a plastic bead/embroidery thread container....all sepaarated into different sections, but I don't use sticky gems, I glue them on...works better for me! I find the ones that are self adhesive still need glue, especially on sweaty days!

I have my gems sorted by colour in empty TAG containers, all screwed together in a stack.

And,
talking about playing with the box that the gift came in....
I lovingly received an iPad2 for Christmas. And, I got all excited about the box that the COVER for the iPad came in as it is like a thin translucent drawer to spread my gems out.

Happy Painting!

Only a face painter would be as excited about the container, kinda like my 2 yr old and the boxes her toy came in, that being said you can say it is your way of going green, way to re-purpose. I like a fishing tackle organizer.

Post by Miss Ronnie Sun Dec 30, 2012 3:40 pm

I recently spent an entire day removing all my self stick gems from the plastic sheet they came on and then I removed the stupid gummy sticky stuff from the back of them so i could glue them on from here on in.

My fingers were raw when I was done. I then put them into a bead organizer. I will never buy self stick ones again. They stick to everything in my kit and my house. In fact, they stick to everything except the darn kid's face.

Fessy, I like your TAG staking idea...gonna give it a try.

I keep mine in a makeup bag. Of course, I'm not working outside my house with them yet so my purpose is just to keep them together and inside my sf/x box.

I have that exact box, Jobena. I got it at Walmart for about the same price. Then I got a pound container of gems at Hobby Lobby and sorted them into the spaces. The only problem is my self-stick gems don't fit, so they're just in a baggie ATM.

JennyNixe......I got my Gems from Oriental Trading and my daughter split up a few pounds by color or size...I do love the snowflakes for winter parties. I love this case snaps nice and tight and fits right in the front pocket of my rolling case.

I have the same thing but filled with the self stick gems and gem clusters.
I cut the plastic around each individual gem and/or gem cluster and then organize them in the container.
I got it at Micheals for 1.99

I (once upon a time) purhased the pound o' acrylic gems and sorted them accordingly and also bought spirit gum. However, I rarely, if ever, used it beacuse it was WAY too much effort. You pick it, then fiddle with the glue, then try tro manuver it and stick it without getting glue on your fingers. Ug...

Now with the self adhesive, I peel and stick. In no time flat I get the ooohhhs and awwws.

My avatar actually has the peel and stick ones. Each row of three is 1 sticker that was cut out of a larger sheet. Serisouly look me maybe 2 minutes to peel and stick that blinged out tiger
