Kids dressed up as cats this year. Painted them with a simple cat mask. Black snaz, little fab pink noses, wolfe black and white. My oldest had to wash off her make up at school. (Every one had to wash off make up and change out of costumes, was totally expecting it.) The parent helping the kids clean up commented to my daughter how easy it was to take off her face paint.
Yea, lady, that's the good stuff. Now how to make sure all other parents know this?

I've had lots of parents ask me what it takes to get the paint off.
When I tell them "Just soap and water; if it stains a bit, apply lotion and then wash again" they always seem so baffled. I guess they assume we're going to say they need some sort of oil or special face wash.

My fav, multiple times at any event

"how long will this stay on?
"until you wash it off with soap and water"
"well, how long is that?"
..........until you wash your face."

Oh my god, I know!
"When does this come off?"
"Whenever you wash it?"
"Well, if they sweat/eat/wipe it, will it come off?"

I did an event last weekend for my (real) job's charity. Usually for hourly paid gigs that are "free" to the public I paint mask versions if my full face designs. I painted a set of brothers- one was green hulk and one was a red hulk. The older asked if I could paint the rest of his face- I told him, today this is how we are painting the hulk, and besides, he doesn't want it to get messed up when he eats/drinks, ect. A little while later my line had died, he came back and wanted me to finish painting the rest of his face. Of course then little bro wants it too. Fine, whatever.

Then they come over a third time, now I have a line of people- as soon as I help the girl I was painting out of the chair, mom cuts the line and plops little bro (red hulk) I'm my chair. He's clearly been eating/drinking what not and has ruined the bottom half of his paint job that we did not originally paint. Mom wants to know if I can "just wipe this off and paint something new" Grrr.

She starts to get pissed off that I say that they need to get to the end of the line because these kids have been waiting patiently and haven't been painted once yet, let alone twice. She starts going on about how she's not waiting that long ect. I then told her she can help herself to as many baby wipes that she wants to try and wipe it off, but the baby wipes aren't very effective, and the best way to get it off is with soap and water in the bathroom. I swear she shot laser beams at me from her eyes. Of course then she used a dozen wipes to try and get it off (unsuccessfully) and grumbled the whole time about how she couldnt believe they would have to wait.

The good thing was, there were parents waiting to get painted in line too and totally had my back. Many of them thanked me for not getting pushed over by her!
