Weirdest thing in your paint kit?

I bought sponges from Big Al's Aquarium Services (a huge aquarium store with tanks, fresh and salt water fish, coral and supplies).
The sponges are $1. They have a great open weave to create a rough looking beard.
And, I can cut one sponge into 6-8 small pieces.

There is only the Caramel Drizzle stuff that just does not seem to live up to the caffeine factor.

Daphne, In Germany they use sponges to wipe the brushes, at EuropaPark (Kind a Disney - Epcot) they only use a few brushes and they can change from black to white just washing the brush in the water and wiping with the sponge.

The weirdest thing I have in my kit is a lighter, I don't smoke but I am using it to seal the end of my Kanekalon braids.

Diane : I wish I have them to scare those little sticky hands that like to look something they don't loose in your kit.

I can't think of any logical reason Miss Ronnie. Something to do with putting brushes in there? Playing periscope while waiting for people to come be painted? Whacking people over the head with when they try to play with your art supplies? It makes a great pretend mic to sing into for karaoke time later? You paint one edge yellow and BAM! Instant monocle stamp? You can draw a smiley face on it and it can be a FP version of Wilson when you need someone to help you hang on to your sanity? You've somehow rigged it with a depressor on the other end to dispense your clean sponges as needed? You've decorated it and use it like a marathon baton so the last kid painted hands it to the next kid that needs to be painted so they know it's their turn? An easy out for when you get sucked into a conversation with someone unpleasant until you turn and say, "Oh dear, looks like I'm out of paper towel, I've got to go get more, I'll see you later!" Shooting out really large spitwads because... Oh gosh I don't know, I really can't think of anything you'd REALLY use it for XD

Whoa! Jody! Do you pepper spray little hands that touch your stuff? I bet nobody ever does THAT twice!! Or, do you live in a rough part of Ohio? I am originally from Detroit, and the most vicious item in my kit is Slappy Hand that is missing some digits so it is perpetually giving me "The Finger"

Haha! Lisa, you crack me up. Detroit is rough, that's where my dad is from. Mainly the spray is for my husband, well, not to be used on him, but it makes him feel better knowing I have it when I travel. He also bought me a tazer, I leave it home though.

My oldest son walked past my open kit the other day, he said ,"Mom, I love how you randomly have pepper spray in your nice little face painting kit." LOL I do always keep it tucked away so no curious hand can find it while I'm at a job but it goes on my hip when I leave some times. I swear, I would probably spray my own face if I ever have to use it.

I have a Leatherman in my kit, too....but that's because I'm pretty much never without my Leatherman! That thing has proved unexpectedly useful to me on SO many occasions.

I got confused in this thread...thought Jody's husband felt better knowing she had window cleaner spray on hand at all times...

Well who knows, maybe pepperspray is the solution for dirty windows? :-)

Or maybe he's really, REALLY anxious about dirty glass.

Forgot my brushes one day and the hubby had to bring them to me. After many warnings about protecting my precious brushes they arrived safe in an empty paper towel tube taped off at one end. I still use it.

Mamakatrien,Tineke,and Kammy, you have exposed my husband , he is a neat freak and yes pepper spray works on windows! LOL just kidding,(not about my hubs being a neat freak) do not for any reason use pepper spray on windows, just in case you were gonna...

For me the weirdest thing in my kit, next to the clear desktop pencil/pen holder filled with clear "crystal" mini beads, would have to be the multi colored squishy, light-up rubber caterpillar. Excellent tactile distraction for wiggly, nervous under-5's.

I don't know if these would be considered weird on this forum, but I have:
Straight pins with a pearl tip
orange bag with duct tape around it
fish filter
industrial clamps

I don't have too much of a kit as of yet....weirdest (not really that weird though) things I guess would be weekly pill containers, I load my gems into them and have glued a sample gem on the top of each compartment...I have 4 of them so far, all different sizes...they work beautifully! Also I have liquid eyeliner...works really well for teeny little details in black. Guess I need more weird stuff!
