My first-ever one-stroke roses!
Painted these on my arm just now, using a Cameleon Colorblock in "Roses":
Edited to add: Just noticed that the hairs on my arms REALLY SHOW UP in that photo. I look like a gorilla! Sorry!

Wow!! That's some great first try!
Mine looked less gorgeous!
Never mind the hair, everybody just notices when you mention this....

Re: My first-ever one-stroke roses!
Thanks Lizzie, that's so kind of you. I'm feeling really pleased with how they came out - they actually look a lot better on my arm than they do on the photo! I didn't think I'd be able to do it, but actually it came really easily.
I never thought of myself as artistic, so when I paint something that looks pretty, I get a real sense of joy out of it.

Thank you so much, Metina! I can't believe that three weeks ago I'd never touched a face paint in my life, and now I'm so addicted to anything on the subject.Metina wrote:Not bad at all! Better than mine actually! Go Girl!
I'm getting so much encouragement and information from this forum. Thank you for providing such a rich, friendly environment for newbies and professionals alike.

Beautiful Kammy! I can't wait to get my Flat brushes so I can really practice my roses Good Job!
Re: My first-ever one-stroke roses!
My other half just bought me 3 of the Royal Soft-Grip 3/4" brushes so that I have one for each one-stroke cake I currently own. He's a star. :-)

Kammy, that's an amazing first try ! I can´t paint a decent rose to save my life, lol! What colours are there? Is it white-yellow-orange-red or just white-yellow-red (without orange)?

Re: My first-ever one-stroke roses!
They look great, I really have trouble with roses. Gotta get off my butt nd practice them. Oh and if you think your arms look like a gorilla, you should see mine! LOL I actually had a child ask me why I had boy arms???
Re: My first-ever one-stroke roses!
It's a Cameleon Colorblock in "Roses" - sort of maroon, red, pink, yellow, then white. I love it, the colours blend really prettily.Pilareta wrote:Kammy, that's an amazing first try ! Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement, everyone! I'm so pleased that I seem to get some things right in face painting. I've got a lot to learn, but when I get a nice result like this, I actually feel like I'm getting somewhere.

Re: My first-ever one-stroke roses!
These are amazingly good especially for first tries! I haven't mastered roses...I watched the videos but mine kind of suck...I have to practice more and get the right one stroke...maybe I'll make it myself

I really like the Roses Colorblock, but I also have a Prisma split cake in "Fleur" due for delivery in the next couple of days, and I'm looking forward to playing with that, too. I daren't paint another rose now, as I'm sure it will go horribly wrong and ruin my 100% success rate....as in 1 out of 1.
