Greetings from Chicago!

Hi Everyone!

So I am completely new to this but I look forward to exchanging new ideas and skills with all of you. I have been face painting for a couple years...I dont think Im great but I really really enjoy doing it and I definitely want to learn more and continue having fun with it. I mainly work for people who know me but I want to expand my horizons and grow in this field I do not think that there is a large face painting community in Chicago but I look forward to interacting with all of you here. Oh hi! I'm from Chicago too! I just joined the site yesterday, and I only know people through the company I work at. It's fun; sometimes it's stagnating when your only resource is one tiny group it's kind of-limiting. One think I've noticed about my IRL face paint friends is that they just about all seep their creativity into other artistic skills; do you do other things too? A lot of face painting animators here in Chi

Nice to meet you AvidLebon! Face painting is really all I do, I am however very interested in art. My undergrad was in art history but when I realized that it was not a practical field to go into I changed career paths. Despite this, I never stopped painting and doing "artsy" things, lol. Face painting has been so awesome and I really just do it as a hobby but Im realizing that its slowly becoming into something much more serious!

Yeah, I actually do not know any other face painters in town. Many times when I am unable to work for a party, I am asked if I know any other face painters and my answer is always no. Hopefully this will change soon and I will be able to recommend other fellow face painters!!!

I hope you stick around! Ever since I found out about it it's so nice to have other people who are genuinely interested in face painting. I try to talk to my friends about it buuuuuuut it's like when guys try to talk to me about monster trucks. Just don't get it! I wonder if any Chicago painters have meet ups- THAT would be really cool! It's rare that I meet another artist and don't learn something from them!
