Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
Hiya,
I have created a web ad for the forum if anyone would like to add it to their website, myspace or other site as desired. You will need to link the ad to www.facepaintforum.com
Please pm if there are any problems with the size, resolution or downloading.
Thanks for the help boosting membership!

Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
That's really nice....and I would link it on my site...but here is my one 'issue'.
I really don't want my 'regular' customers coming here and reading certain things that are not 'private' and confidential to just face painting professionals. Just think...you have a difficult customer....but they book you fairly often. You just happen to post something that can read really negative about the 'pain in the butt' this one customer is...and then they happen to follow the link and see that post.
We need private areas, like most forums have, for 'members' only or professional painters. Certain topics shouldn't be a 'general public access' discussion. It could get you sued too...for liability if they even THINK it's them you are talking about.
Just an FYI. I was a moderator on a large site and they had private areas where the 'mods' could 'let their hair down', so to speak, without worrying about the general public opinions.
We might want to create a private 'professionals only' section for the more delicate topics. Ie, the 'Where's the Beef' topic area is definitely something I would not want anyone visiting my website to accidentally stumble across.

Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
I wouldn't mind adding it to my links page... except I'd be a little worried about my customers reading things I post here.
Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
I think your concerns are totally valid and I will change the "Where's the Beef" section to private. As to the ad, it is totally at your discretion.
I had a member ask for an ad to post on My Space for the purpose of other painters seeing it. In the end YOU have to do what is best for you and your business. Please don't feel pressured by anyone to do anything.
Also, do we think the business area should be private also?

The "Where is the Beef" area is now private. Only MEMBERS will even see that it exists. Hope this helps.
Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
mmm, as far as the business area...it's something to consider. I'll have to think about that and read that area again.
Thank you Metina. Not to be a pain, just wanted a place where we can confidentially discuss concerns and all that. Great job, btw. Thank you!

Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
Glad to hear it. Please do not hesitate to let me know about ways to improve the forum. After all, the better it is, the more we will grow.
Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
How do I post a link to this site using the facepaint web ad that was made? Sorry I am HTML challenged.
Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
I struggle with it to, but there is a wealth of info out there.
This should work. This code will align the banner align right. If you want it left or center, change the word "right" to the word left or center.
Let me know if it doesn't work.

Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
Just a thought here.
When a member signs up do they have to send you a little write up on why they would like to join? I can't remember.
I was just thinking that when you join a yahoo group you have to tell the moderators why you want to join and this seems to work so that you just get people who are truly interested in this type of forum and are involved in this type of work/hobby etc.
Like I said just a thought or maybe a ramble.

Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
No they don't. What I do is monitor the forum to make sure that whoever posts are posting what they should be. I have only had to ever delete two posts of persons looking to try and sell their own services or get others to their forum.
I spent a lot of time putting the forum together, getting members ect. and I am very protective. Good thought. Thanks for asking!

Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
I am now updating the ad to include the beautiful art that Captain Savvy did for me. It is currently on Face Book and the Fabbulas Artist's Symposium page and growing. Thanks again for helping me grow the forum. Just try and link it back to us if you can.
Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
Are the people in the logo supposed to be anyone in particular? WHo are they? Just wondering. It's great by the way!!!
Re: Web Ad for FacePaintForum.com: UPDATE!!
No one that I know. Captain Savvy did the artwork for the forum. The closest I can think is Angie Anders is blonde and wears an apron. Several people have claimed the brunette. The could be any of us as I am SURE we have all changed our hair a lot.
Good question.
