1-2 minute design help Empty 1-2 minute design help

Post by Faces by Ainslie Tue Aug 21, 2012 11:08 pm

Hi gang

I'm painting for a charity with heaps of kids and said that the designs will be simple- VERY! 1-2 minutes max and I have made them provide a line manager.

I will have a word board for the designs and won't stray so I can get through them all.

I will do (mostly one strokes):

*rainbow with love heart
*rainbow with their name
*peace sign
*simple tiara
*flower eyes
*butterfly eyes

*snake
*wounds/gash
*spider
AND THEN I GET STUCK

I find it hard for quick boys, so I would love 1 or 2 more ideas?

Love love x

I do a quick skull & crossbones, bring some red simple scars with stiches out from it, across the face, like easy frankenstein scars. Real fast. Also, on the General face painting here, someone had a wonderful Hulk forehead only, in a recent post, looked very fast. Ask her if she minds you using it. Also, maybe just sponge a little white around eyes (not whole mask) then do black around the eyes with some black line "cracks" coming from eyes, just for spooky "skull eyes"? You could also add two teardrops on nose for a skeleton nose look in about a second

Ainslie, that thread Tina was refering to in General Face Painting is:
"Loving this more & more" by
Face Painting by Jessica. She did a quick Hulk mask above the eyes.

For boys you could also do a single monster eye, or make it a mask. Lisa joy young also does a cute dauber wuppie design on youtube. Fish are quick too.

Yes, the Hulk design Tina is talking about is this one:

It's so simple it's ridiculous lol. Another one that takes basically 30 seconds is my roses:

The Gelato Tiger Eye was inspired by a tutorial I saw on here, minus the liquid bling Smile 2 minutes at most.

Just an update:

The event went very well and I even had about 30 minutes at the end where kids came and got another quick design because we had finished "firsts". I'm not sure if there were less kids than anticipated or I was super speedy Wink They were all in that 6-12 age bracket.

Anyway THE MOST popular design was a scar down one eye and 2 on the arm with stiches and then I used red and black paint to swipe with a coarse sponge over the corner of the nose, side lip, brow, and near the "wound" and over one lot of knuckles to look like grazes.

Also rainbow with hearts, rainbow with their name and dolphins were the other most popular out of 16 that I provided.

So thankyou for all of your input x

Hi there,
Do you have any photos of the scar you do over the eye? I might be doing some painting at a school function where I teach, and there are so many kids I'm panicking a little bit! This is a great thread Smile

I had a little toddler come up to me and ask for such a scar last week!
I had no idea how to do it, but splattered some blood on it in the end and he looked quite happy. did not take a picture though

Strange kids...

Perry, I REALLY like your design board and how you explain how to make choices. VERY good idea. Love your shark design too. I like how the sharks teeth aren't painted on the customer's mouth.

I used to do it on their mouth, but the shape of the shark never ends up right and the teeth get licked off within 5 minutes too.
