Paradise Porto swatch
Considering buying Paradise Porto. Anyone have it? Like it? Swatched it? Is it like TAG Wine Berry? I'm looking for a nice deep maroon...
also thinking of Paradise black, deep sea, wild orchid, storm cloud, dark green.
OY I think I might need to whittle that list a bit... ???

Re: Paradise Porto swatch
I don't know about the Porto but I have the Wild Orchid and black. Love them both!
The orchid lines crisp and dark like a Wolfe. I have Wolfe and Paradise black and use them both constantly depending on the need. The Wolfe black is inky and nothing beats it for line work but it is difficult to shade with. The Paradise shades near dry or wet and it also is better to use around little ones eyes as it washes off easier.

Re: Paradise Porto swatch
I couldnt find porto - know I bought it, and it was on my stocktake (stockpile) list I think it may have walked.
In feb I had my paradise loose for a gig and about half were new - I mean they came in the post the day before and I could sware a pot got stolen but I dismissed it at the time. I have the other colours you mentioned
(I didn't do black and white.)
Deep Sea, wild orchird, storm cloud, dark green
if someone could do porto as I think mine was nicked (and I want see as I might want to buy it again too )

Re: Paradise Porto swatch
Thank you soooo much! Yes, I am currently in love with the darker paradise colors. Maybe it's the promo pics on the site but I do like that wild orchid. I think the pics on the site look darker than the swatches here so maybe I shouldn't get tooooo excited. I was painting with another artist once that had this GORGEOUS shade of navy purple (I think she was actually using Kryolan) and I've been jonesing for that ever since. She used it to outline butterflies and I liked it much better than my black... I'm also finding I need some darker colors to add to my splits to punch them up a bit. My roses feel too mushy and I thought Porto might be a good one to add next to the pink to add definition.
Re: Paradise Porto swatch
I don't really care for Paradise black in comparison to Wolfe black for base or line work. I have found that if you start the cleanup on kids with straight from the bottle baby shampoo & mush the face clean, THEN rinse, it comes off just as well as Paradise--and the Wolfe is so much more vibrant. T do like the paradise if I am shading, and it blends soo much nicer...
Re: Paradise Porto swatch
Paradise is a soft black color compared to Wolfe.

Re: Paradise Porto swatch
ok I will just put up a few paradise colours for you
Red, Beach berry, dark pink, light pink - (this was on my right arm had a hard time getting the photo hence reflection points sorry)
black, white, mauve, purple, violet.
Bear in mind it is late at night here so I can't get a nice sunlit photo.
I use paradise black as a black spiderman base as i think it comes of the best. I don't stain with wolfe but my boy dose and I assume that there will always be one parant who is going to decide to scrub that poor child not matter what I have told them, said, or printed out. if I was any good at starblends I would use that as I am not paradise it is. Wolfe, Tag and DFX look better I think but paradise comes of easyer for a mum who doset know - or listen.
I still use DFX of wolfe for Black and White all the time for line work, and use tag (as I have that brand) in colours for line work -most of the time, not all the time as paradise is ok for a blendy paint its just that I have tag too and it is easy, nice and sharp and stays put. Paradise I find can smudge a bit later
There are painters who use it for line work well (I am just not one of them) and in my avatar I put in the paradise teal things at edge of eye, with a brush, but have outlined them in DFX so I do use it on a brush a lot just not for thin lines or tear drops really. However many painters do, and do it well. There are also painters who do it well with snaz (again I am not one of them either)

Haha! Thanks so much Elantura! You may have now turned me on to the Violet! LOL
Re: Paradise Porto swatch
had a look for just paradise stuff with violet in them. the purples and pinks I go through the quickest.
here is my 3 min butterfly (on the job pic)
left is white, light pink, dark pink, wild orchid
right is white mauve, purple, violet
and to give you a better idea of violet
a repaint of Lynne Jamesons cutie monster - my daughter fell asleep with her cheek against the back of the chair about 1 min in, I didn't want to wake her till I had too so its a little wonky and patchy, not the best (she also wasn't in the mood for photos - LOL)
I have a few kryolan purples too, but now they sort of live in the cupboard - only because I can't carry Tag, Paradise, FAB and Kryolan to jobs I love them all. and when I had to make a choice, I find it easyier to use paradise on a brush. but if you want some kryolan purples swatches I can do them too.

Re: Paradise Porto swatch
Oh! And I love Paradise btw. It's very soft and easy to blend. It's like Snaz to me which felt much softer on kids faces, it's like you had nothing on!
My kit right now consist of Paradise, Tag Pearls and Arty Cakes! Paradise is such an awesome base!
