Re: Hello Kitty :(
When I have a long line i do not outline it. Also if it is a very young girl who does not know the difference i don’t outline it. But the really big fans will want it outlined and don’t like if the bow is on the wrong side.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
My hello kitty is about the same as 02Skeith's, but it goes to the corners of the mouth, and the ears are rounder.
I don't have a pic of it here, I'll check if I can find one somewhere :-)

Re: Hello Kitty :(
Oh yes, and definitely outline last. Start with all the white, using a high density sponge or a huge flat brush. Then make the bow tie in pink or red (the color depends on the outfit the child is wearing in my case) then add the yellow on the nose, but make that not round, it's a horizontal oval.
Next you load a nr 6 round brush with black, and start outlining. I start with the bow tie, then go around it. Next up is the lining around the nose (if you're not comfortable doing it with the tip of your nr 6 brush, use a smaller one, because it has to be a fine line). Last but not least are the whiskers, getting those right is the most important of this face! Take a picture of the original hello kitty with you for reference if you don't know it by heart.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
I did a hello kitty on my daughter the other night. I keep trying to paint eyes on it and she looked like a mime. So yes, the mask with out the eyes painted on it is best way to go!!

Re: Hello Kitty :(
My vote is for starblends... or metalic white. It looks much nicer blended into the eyes imho. It's not harsh the way other white can be. Also, I think it's pretty if you give her lome cute eyelashes. ( just a winged liner on the outside). I haven't taken a picture of Hello kitty in soooooo long! It's now on my bucket list... along with some updated butterflies.
Re: Hello Kitty :(
I used to hate Hello Kitty requests, so I came up with one that I like doing. Plus the girls love it.
Re: Hello Kitty :(
This one is mine, on myself.. Not the greatest but quick.. I used snaz for the whole thing and outline after.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
Here are a few of mine. I always ask what the girls favorite color is, and use that for the bow.
Both designs are very popular at both parties and ppf.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
I think it looks best small, and you can always add a variation of designs to accent it! So everyone at the party will feel different and special
Re: Hello Kitty :(
I think that for cheek art Hello Kitty it is better to make a stencil for the correct form and an outline. I will make for sure, cause i also hate my hello Kitty looks like.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
Things to remember:
her face is oval, not round
her ears are far to the side of her face
her nose is usually yellow with a black outline (sometimes just black), it is oval and it is about 3/4 of the way down her face.
her eyes are very low too, they're just above the nose.
her whiskers are nearly parallel and begin at the top of the eyes.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
Hi, initially, I painted a classic Hello Kitty mask. But I do not like this original image. White oval with unrealistic yellow nose. Its ugly for me.
So I modified the theme. I paint my classic white cat and add it to the classic red bow.

Re: Hello Kitty :(
Here is my fast HK! I use to outline the nose, but now I don't. Some noses are just too round or wide or the kids move too much. I just glitter it up like rudolph The kids love it! Oh, the white is Starblends. I can do this design in 3 minutes or less
Here's a purple bow as requested and my clown costume The lighting of this camera was yucky!

Re: Hello Kitty :(
JMHO but whether or not you LIKE Hello Kitty yourself should not have anything to do with it. Hello Kitty is a character and she looks the way she looks. A white cat with a bow is not Hello Kitty. It would be like saying, "I think Sponge Bob should be blue instead of yellow." .... then it's not Sponge Bob, it's a blue thing.
If you want to say that you won't paint trademarked images, go ahead. But in my opinion, if you will paint trademarked characters, then they need to look as close to the actual character as you can get it.
