Tag pearls inconsistency?

I know different colors often have different consistencies, but I thought all the tag pearls were deemed fairly creamy...I find the lilac to be super-soft and has great coverage, and no problems with the pink or purple or white, but the pearl orange and yellow are just soooo hard and dry...I have to work it like crazy with a lot of water and I'm wondering did I get a bad batch? Any tricks? I just painted the kids in my daughter's class today and I knew one boy wanted a tiger before I started so I sprayed the orange and yellow about ten minutes before he sat down and I still had problems. I have a festival on Sunday and I think it's too late to order another paint and I'm predicting some sloooooow tigers!

I love my yellow/orange split, haven't had any problems with it. Try "preloading" your paints, mist them with a water bottle lightly when you're setting up. They might have just gotten a little too dry.

I have defenitely found Tag to be sensitive to moisture. I had a very humid/rainy festival this last weekend and my paints were lookin pretty spongy.

It is a little harder but that also means it will last longer. I actually wish that TAG would come out with a golden orange pearl...it's much more saturated than yellow in the regular colors. You might try a gold copper split for tigers...it looks fabulous and they are a little softer.

I find that my TAG Pearl Teal is really soft compared to the others. I can actually press my finger into it very gently and it'll leave a dent. My others are a lot harder. I haven't noticed any difference in application though.

I will add a couple of drops of glycerin in my mister bottle if some of the paint gets a bit on the dry side. Thanks for that tip go to Metina.

I actually love my tag pearl orange/yellow split. Haven't had any problems with it. I always spray my sponge first. Seems to load nicely. I dunno?
