Heeeey everyone!!
I used to be really active on this forum, but not lately. So most of you probably don't know me, BUT I have a question:
I had to put painting down for a while because life got in the way, then we moved out of state. We moved from TX to AZ!
I DON'T KNOW ANYONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Soooo, my question is....where do I begin? Shocked
Also, are there any other painters here in AZ??
thanks!

I moved from South Mississippi to Northwest Arkansas in October and had the same dilemma... I knew NO ONE here. I found out who the local face painters were and contacted them, letting them know I didn't want to step on anyone's toes but wanted to network with them. When I am booked and can't do a gig I send it to them, and they do the same. Well in the beginning of course, they were the ones sending me all the gigs, but now I can send them some in return! I also updated my Gigsalad account which is where I get most of my leads, and I started a Google Adwords account, which only shows my ad in my area. I also made rack cards from Vistaprint and put them in brochure holders and went around to local stores to see if I could put them out. Not many let me, but the few that did, I get quite a few leads from them. And I've booked every festival in a 100-mile radius LOL! I have my husband all painted up as a tiger (face, neck, arms) to stand in front of my tent and hand out rack cards to each and every person that passes by. He garners a lot of attention! I've actually gotten booked quite a few times from the 2 festivals I've done so far.

So, to make a long story short.... it's harder to get started in a new area, but once you get the ball rolling, it gets easier!
