Face Painting Club

Face Painting Club
I'm thinking of starting a face painting club in the school I teach (k-12). I figure I can learn and practice with the kids as we review my dvds, books and you tube. I've enlisted the help of our art teacher (not a face painter at all) as I think she's the resident expert on design, shading etc.
I think I'll just start out with Snazaroo paint for the kids to learn with. I'll charge the kids a fee as the paint is expensive and have them buy their own brushes and sponges (I'll recommend Shannon's car wash sponge), teach them the 'Albertan' way of sanitization. If there is an interest and things take off, maybe start painting at school sports games, raise some money and be able to have a 'real' fp instructor come and do a clinic.
Anyone every done anything like this? Suggestions?

Re: Face Painting Club
I've taught at theatre camps for 5-12 years .... it is a challenge. And SFX to an "at risk" kids program for teens - that was scary.
I think your idea is great. As a club only the kids with an interest would attend - rather than you struggling to keep the interest of the ones who would rather be texting.
One idea would be to have them all buy their own palettes - the Snaz Rainbow Palette maybe. This is what I provide to all my students.... gives them 8 colours and enough to figure out if they want to continue with it. They can expande it if they choose.
