Have u paid for Exclusivity? Empty Have u paid for Exclusivity?

I am wanting to do one of our local 4th of July celebrations this year. One yr, I did one and there was an acrylic painter 2 booths down selling $1 cheeks. I think it hurt me because the way it was set up, most of the people herder their way first ,then came past me. I heard a lot of "Mommy, Please..." to be followed with, "U already got painted!"

So, I asked another fest about exclusivity and they said that for $15 extra a day I can have exclusivity. I think that sounds pretty good but has anyone ever had to pay for it? That will bring my total fee up to $145 for 2.5 days. I have pd more fore spaces in the past, but don't want to shoot myself in the foot either.

sounds like a very reasonable amount to me if you feel that the event can't handle more than one artist.

Thanks for the insight Perry. I thought it sounded pretty good too. It is a small event but If I am the only one there, I should definitely do well. Smile

And hopefully they will honour the deal!! Do they promise to shut down the "free" painters being used for promotion by non-painter vendors?

That sounds reasonable for a 2.5 day event.

And I second what Shannon says. It only works if they shut down the freebies!

Thanks guys, I will check on that. If I am paying for exclusivity, I want just that, and that would definitely mean shutting someone down if they show up.
