Hoping to Practice Tonight
My daughter's school is having a spirit night at Chuck E Cheese tonight. I am the fundraising coordinator and all the kids already know that I paint faces at the events we hold at the school.
So I was thinking of taking my little portable kid (plastic divided container holding all my "scraps" from my previous mini snazaroo kits and a couple of mini rainbow cakes I made from scraps of my DFX. I also have a little makeup bag with a couple of sponges a gold glitter and I snuck in my new white starblend and some eye shadow sponges from when I used to sell Mary Kay.
I am not sure how much I can do with so many tiny bits of paint, but I am hoping I can get some practice in.
I got pretty good at full face designs at the dance a few weeks ago, but I doubt my little kit can handle that sort of painting.

You could do mostly cheek art, such as flowers for girls with vines and for little boys like a snake or a spider. Just small designs. They're super easy and fast too! But of course, it would be so much easier for you if you had the full kit!! xx

Re: Hoping to Practice Tonight
It went well. I wish I had gotten a photo of the one full face I did of a kitty. I used my star blend for the ears and muzzle and black for the nose and lip and then brown spots and to outline the ears just a bit.
The rest was hearts, butterflies, abstract swirls on the arm and one dragon.
I didn't put up a sign or make an effort to paint faces. But the kids all knew I face painted and asked and I made them ask their parents before I would do anything. But I still had a decent crowd and painted for about an hour and a half.
I also gave out one business card. Which considering how much I did not promote the fact that I was face painting, I thought was pretty nifty.

That's great! Glad to hear it went well for you.
It would of been great to see some pictures of the work you did with the limited equipment you had! It's always great to get promoting yourself at such events!
I usually work without having signs up too, because when kids and parents see your paints they know you are facepainting, sometimes I do however put out a portfolio for the queues that are waiting so they can flick through!
