Approaching Parks & Rec About FP Safety
I volunteer for a local park, and today when I was there picking up supplies to make some banners for the summer camp program, I saw a box labeled face paints that was filled with palmers paints, acrylics, and water colors. Naturally, I mentioned how unsafe that the acrylics and water colors can be, and I suggested that the lady in charge of the summer camp get some snazaroo (now that our michaels has it, they can get it really cheap with coupons). She wants to, only the money is going to have to come out of her own pockets because the county's parks and rec program will only pay for supplies from a specific list of vendors, and michaels is not on that list.
She asked me if I would consider talking to the county on her behalf to convince them to add funding for proper paints, because as a professional, they would probably listen to me before they listened to her. I know that I want to do so in the form of a letter; however, at this point I have no idea how to approach writing the letter. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Re: Approaching Parks & Rec About FP Safety
I think you should just summarize what you wrote in your post, give a link to Snazaroo, and a link to the dangers of using acrylic paint. My thinking is that they would nix the activity rather than use a vendor not on the list, but the is a negative view. The positive view is that they are now educated on safe face paint and no kids will be harmed.
When I'm on twitter and see someone saying they've been asked to face paint and don't know how or never did it before I tell them not to use craft paint, but use something cosmetic grade.
