Shonna's Balloon Jam
Hiya,
Just wanted to share this photo since it is rare that I don't have a double chin! LOL
This was taking last Friday at Shonna Flanigan's Balloon Jam in Gettysburg, PA. She SAYS she will hold one every month. It was a blast! PM me for Shonna's email, if you'd like to come.

That is me with the penguin and Elmo in the middle(ish)

Re: Shonna's Balloon Jam
That think took like 100 balloons and about 45 minutes. That is Shonna's son. He is an AMAZING twister!
Re: Shonna's Balloon Jam
Shonna, like everyone who was there facepaints too. This was like a jam of facepainters and entertainers who were learning some of the coolest balloons to make us even more marketable. Shonna and her family are a family of entertainers....There are 5 of them and they all are specialized in there own way. Shonna is MaMa entertainer, she is the business woman. Rob is funny....I'm betting that you could give him one balloon and he could keep an audience of people entertained for hours. He is a very patient teacher, teaching technic, humor, and balloon art. He had a group of us and taught all of us step by step twisting and inserted humor and how to use it as he taught. Then of course there is Dustin, he is the reason that his Dad only gets one balloon. He will twist and twist the most awesome creations that you will ever see. While Shonna showed us a 2 balloon specialty shape Turtle (easily changed into a lady bug) Dustin twisted a 260 brown backed turtle....incredible. Oh and then there were the 2 girls. Allyssa the youngest was our hostess with the mostess. Yep, I caught her working in the kitchen (as was her Dad) making sure that we all had food and drinks available. Alanna was off on her teen world....she stopped by and got a chance to say Hi before leaving out to go to work. Oh, and Metina was there too and she brought her paints to sell.
I've got some great new balloons to add to my skills, Thanks for the jam Shonna and family, you guys were great. Oh yea, I'm in the picture too...I'm on the far right, just behind the doorway.
To sum it up, If you can be there - go to her next Jam, you will learn something whether it's balloons, marketing or entertaining skills, it will be worth your time. She's planning on weekdays And all Shonna asks is that you bring a chair and a bit of food to share.

Jenny,
Do you have any other photos? I pulled this one off Shonna's face book as I didn't have a camera.

Metina,
I didn't bring my camera either, notice that I can't even get in them....but it's AnnaMarie, Laurens Mom, who has all the cool pictures. We staged a bunch, but they were so fun and funny. And she got bunches of the balloons.

Re: Shonna's Balloon Jam
Oh good - I just thought I'd gone crazy, and that there was a bumblebee I couldn't find...
Re: Shonna's Balloon Jam
It is bumblebee from the transformers movie. That gray and yellow robot thing. I will try and get someone to send me a better pic of it.
Re: Shonna's Balloon Jam
Okay, I['m not blind either...lol
I LOVE the lobster. My co-clowning dude in Indiana, Dan Langwell is a MASTER at ballooning...he teaches at Mooseburger clown camp every year. He makes dresses and cars you can actually fit into. Amazing! I wish I could twist like that, but the problem is, being 41 now, MY BRAIN can't remember how to do it!!! I just do the ones I remember--the good old standbys!
