keeping paints hygenic
With powders you can just create a safe surface and tap out the loose powders, but with paints in pots... how do you keep them from getting contaminated with badness?

All of the major brands have antibacterial agents added to them to keep them from getting nasty. perhaps someone else can fill in the specifics.

One of the best steps is to have a policy that states you won't facepaint anyone with any breakpots, sores, etc. Give them something on their arm instead.

To be totally sanitary, you work with a pallet and stainless steel pallet knife. You scrape out the paint you need onto the pallet and work off that. Never dip brush into paint pots.
You will waste a lot of paint until you figure out how much you need to scrape out- but it is all about your priorities and the legal requirements of your area.
Brushes are used on one face one time and then washed, sterilized and dried.
