Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
Oh Joy.
A brand spanking new haircut by a crazy woman. I liked my hair and wanted it a BIT shorter. .....I walked out a flipping poofball. even LB laughed at 'mommy'. I figured I might as well share the joy.
Go ahead and poke fun, I have no idea what to do with it. good thing hair grows. maybe now would be a good time to go purple?

That sucks - I have been to so many bad hairdressers and been ripped off by so many more that have litterally stopped going. I haven't had a hair cut by anyone but myself for over two years..... (and if you thinking my hair must look bad... your right... lol)
The last time I had it done - I had it died purple.... I have a lot of hair and it as very striking but it was washed out and a terrible blueygrey colour within 3 weeks... and because I had to pay $280 for it I didn't want to pay for the boosters to keep it purple.... talk about high maintenance!
Now i have pink real hair extensions on clipe that I put in my hair when I'm going to gigs... I can't keep them in as they start to pull after having them in all day... it's really good to have a 'painting persona' ... a colourfull me and a more normal me for school pick-ups etc.
If I had your haircut I would probably bleach it and try to shape it more into a mohawk like Manna said... not a huge one... just shaped like it... so long ontop and really short on the sides and back.... and then I'd colour it... a different color every month... just for the hell of it... I mean you only live once right?..... you should look at Michelle's Gallery at her hair do's. They are short and awesome!! I wish I had her hair... and her spunk! ( love ya Michelle!)...
I have always wished everyone was born with wild hair colours unique to themselves... like purple or green and blue... life would be so much more colourfull.
Have you tried putting crap in it? like mouse or gel or molding crap and having a go at styling it into something you like?.... I think it just looks worse because your face is painted so beautifully in the first pic!

Ah... that's um, pretty rough looking. This was done by an actual licensed hairdresser?
I agree with Tash... go for it! I've had blonde, purple, orange, red, blue, green, chartruese coloured hair at various times... once all at once.

I have never once died my hair, and I never used to cut it. I donated a little over 2ft of hair when J cheated on me. I needed a change.
Kept it short for years, usually it looks alright. I wanted it just a tad shorter this time, she mentioned something about layers and I said yes because last time they looked great. I feel butchered right now.
I have some styling get but I usually dont mess with it. I dont own makeup and I dont own a hairdryer. Thats the kind of girl I am.
thanks about the painting. =0) I thought about painting my face just to take an after shot but I was so disgruntled about the hair! I just didnt. I sure hope it grows out fast. Im going to try foam tomorrow.
...if I got a mowhawk type I couldnt pull it off and J would have nothing to do with me. ever

Yeah, I wont be going there! I usually get LBs bangs done, $5. then Mine was $18. It seemed reasonable so I had it cut. NEVER AGAIN!! lol
Im seriously thinking of adding some type of color...some where. maybe streaks? I have never even messed with the stuff except on Halloween.

I've have purple, blue, pink, skunk strip, and shaved. Right now I love my cyberlox extensions and I braid some in on a regular bases. I like to keep them guessing.
I made both of these myself. That is Aurora, my 3 year old being goofy in them. They defintly hide a bad hair day without anything permanent.
opppss. those are big pics.

Oh! they are great!! I have seen those hairstyles at Katsucon for their 'rave' costumes. I loved them! so springy and shiny!
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
Yup, I'm a self hair cutter after a few of those kind of hair cuts. I've cut my boys hair for their whole lives, my husband won't go to anyone else.
I tried to grow my hair out a couple of years ago but I never looked good because I was too tomboy to care for it properly. Now I've found a good color (Nice & Easy 129G) and I do a modified boy cut but it still drives me crazy that I have to do something with it every month.
If any of you know Jen (fenix face and body art) then you know what I want to do with my hair but hubby is a little conservative that way. I think I've decide that hairbands is going to be my thing...but the ones in the store squeeze my brains out...I think I have a big head.
So, Tara, try a cool hairband and scrunch it with gel when it's semi wet and use the poof to your advantage.

Wow. :-/ Nothing like a bad haircut to make you feel your best!
I like the idea of a hair band with a little gell scrunched into the ends of damp hair, just until it grows out long enough to get a repair cut.
Meanwhile, paint your face every day with one of your sweet eye designs, and everyone will be too distracted to notice the puff.
And... I HOPE you walked out without paying! I would never pay for such poor workmanship.

Honestly, if it was me, I would probably go to a different salon, with ladies who know what they are doing and ask them to help clean it up. Do something fun with it. I can't imagine it looking better unless you take time to maintenance it everyday. I keep my long straight and all one length so I don't have to maintenance mine. I hate to fix my hair.
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
Thank God my daughter is a hairstylist Before I used to go around looking crazy, once someone did a perm and burned my hair real bad took almost a year to grow out .
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
I always ask for a senior stylist and I dont place a budget on my hair really... if the cut is below $50 it usually isnt worth the pain of suffering through a bad cut. I figure if I only cut it a few times a year and save a lot per month as I dont colour, that allows me up to $250 per hair cut/style/highlights. Your hair is an accessory you wear daily it should be worth more then the pieces in your wardrobe right?
There are some funky pixie styles out there.. I would buy some of that putty stuff and pixie it out... funktify it!! Go dark with some streaks of bright colour and own it like you chose it!!

You need something like this! I had real dreads for the past two years but due to excessive heat in AZ and the fact that they were really thick and took 2 days to fully dry I cut them off. This is what I have until my hair grows out again Fun and looks cute up and down
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
I would love to see a pick with the dreads! Do they get smelly?
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
I will see what I have when I get home.. I dont know if I have any good ones but no Never smelly they were washed every 2-4 days depending using baking soda and apple cider vinegar so very clean ( probably cleaner than anyone who uses shampoo and conditioner cuz of the residue it leaves.
I miss them but they were really thick so I am going to start them over thinner when my hair grows out.

Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
Yep, I'd go have it redone, something short and funky, and try a lil bit of eye makeup (mascara and liner). You'll be so happy and a fun look is important for a face painter! Be bold!
It was mentioned above, but I also pay a lot($60) for haircuts, and go seasonally or less. That way I have been able to let it get long. I do my own color, it's not too hard to be this blonde;)

J has vetoed the color options. I dont own a hair dryer, or makeup! Dont really want to start now to tell you the truth. Ill just 'glue' it up and crunchy it when I need to look decent. Thanks for all the options though!! I like the pink.
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
I just noticed my lil cartoon avatar with the neopian maraquan pb, says MASTER. I know its not of painting, so Im guessing its for talking!! LOL
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
Glue it up!!! Love that phrase... I have super-short hair and can't look like a civil human without the pomade! And I vote purple... I loved it when I had purple highlights.
Re: Introducing a poofball for your painting pleasure!
Here's just a thought for you.... did you realize that you can use the face paint to color your hair, and its not permanent.
I don't get my hair cut anymore, and this is exactly why! I have NEVER had a good haircut from a so called professional. And quite frankly I don't have the money or budget for it! My mother will trim up my ends on occasion. I had to cut my hair earlier this year due to a rotator cuff injury. I couldn't lift my arm up to brush it out, D: talk about upset!!!! It was the longest my hair had ever been. Oh well it grows pretty fast. Locks of Love got it. <3
I too am a tomboy and ponytails are my style of choice usually... easy and fast!! I will fix it up for a gig, (haven't had to many this summer so no prob there)...
I vote for the goop, have fun with it. Who knows you may find a style that you will end up loving just by this "accident"...
