WOW! Those school holidays you guys have are aweful! I'll stick to schooling in Australia for sure!

Our longest break is over the summer from about 20th Dec to end of Jan/start of Feb . . . that's not too bad compared to what you ladies have to put up with . . . I shall never complain again!

I had a go of the zombie after retuning back to tassie from sydney from the Wolfe Brothers course with their book in tow. I even tried to scare my two babies but I guess they're used to it çause they didn't even flinch.

I have yet to master the zombie face... I think the forehead is where I totally screw things up... well I take that back, I think its the entire face is where I totally screw things up... lol

I can't wait for school to start here either... I home schooled my kids last year, which I am glad I did cuz they got to spend alot of time with my dad before he died in december, but I am getting a ton of gray and white cuz of them..lol... 2 ADHD boys 7 and 9, and a 15 yo ODD daughter.... Let me tell you I am loosing it fast, school can't come fast enough here!!! :)lol I am so counting down the days til August 11th, then I finally get some time to myself 4 days a week!!!! WOOOOO HOOOO!!!! Sanity will be mine again (I hope... LOL)

We home educate here & I think it's different as you are not used to having a break & the kids tend to amuse them selves a lot of the time rather than relying on someone else to do stuff or provide entertainment.....so it's not a sudden change when every one has to adjust. If that makes sense?

When school holidays is that long, how does that work when both mum and dad are working? Who takes care of the kids then?

In Denmark the kids have summer holiday for 6 or 7 weeks, depending on the school. But most kids only really have 3 weeks holiday with mum and dad, and then are at "fritidshjem" (after school care maybe) for the rest of the time. That's how it is for most kids anyway . They do fun things at the "frididshjem" though, and it's still kind of a holiday for most kids, seeing as it isn't school . Some kids are off the whole holiday, having grandparents to help or maybe mom or dad not working . Hm... Does it make sense?

School here is off from May 23 to August 11 this year... When we have holidays like summer break the parents have to find some sort of daycare... Alot of families use grandparents to watch them, others take them to programs like Boys and girls club, or the YMCA. But anyway you go its quite costly, and by the time they start school again the kids have to spend at least the first 6 weeks if not longer going back over everything they learned last year. Then they start on the new stuff.

Ours was let out on June 28 and they go back Aug 31

We are in the middle of our summerholiday here. It is 6 weeks for the elementary school.

hehehehe thanks Nancy. I have a bit of a confidence block, but i have started handing out business cards that I finally got last week. I might have my first gig in a few weeks....yet to confirm but I'm pretty sure it'll go ahead. Only problem is....she used to be a face painter a few years ago!!! but doesn't want the bother of painting the kids at her daughters party. OMG!! just adds to the stress!! never mind. I will just be happy to give it a go, even though my already shaky hand will be at risk of poking an eye out! : )

Rae!!!!!! Are you kidding me!!! You haven't had your first gig yet?!?!?!?!? I totally thought you had been out painting for a while now!!!!! You are amazing!!!!! My dad would say, suck it up girl.... but I am going to say Sweetie you are incredible, and I would be completely shocked if you ended up with even one person upset at your artwork, professionism, or to be honest anything!!!! You totally owe it to yourself to get out there and start gettting some gigs going!!!!!!! Oh my goodness!!! I can see you painting at a gig, and being so excited that it went so wonderful, and seeing the thread on here with total enthusiasum that well lets just say, I am excited for you right now!!!! But you'll never get to the moon if you don't take that first step!!! I know you are way more than capable you would rock it!!!!
