This is the MSDS I received from Tulip for their face paint. The results do not look thrilling to me. Can some of you who know more about this review it for me. Is there only one MSDS per brand?? wouldn't it be by color?? If it would be easier could I email the original to anyone, it may be easier to read??

This is probably the most pertinent section for you:

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Acute (Short-Term) Effects of Exposure Route of Entry
Acute Effects – Eye:
Irritating to eyes. Acute Effects – Skin Contact: No hazard in normal industrial use
Acute Effects – Inhalation:
No hazard in normal industrial use Acute Effects – Ingestion: No hazard in normal industrial use
Chronic (Long-Term) Effects of Exposure Effect of Chronic Exposure: This product should be considered non – hazardous and has no known chronic effects.

Note it all says No Hazard and No long term effects of Chronic exposure.

This ingredient is what got people up in arms a year or two ago about face paint right before hallowween: FERRIC FERROCYANIDE CI: 77510
Might have been Snazz that had it in it too..... Not sure. It is what makes Dark Blue paints Dark Blue but it has ther word "Cyanide" in it so one reporter decided to focus on that- as memory serves.

Ureha sometimes causes an allergic reaction on skin, and is in some face paint. But this is seldom. Now, some parents might not be thrilled with knowing there is urhea in there... but, they should read THEIR cosmetic ingrediant lists.

Note- all MSDS sheets have the same blanks on them- but this one many of the fields are blank, which is good.

Get the MSDS sheet for something like fiberglass resin and you can compare- and see all the nasty things in it. Or Nail Pollish!

Thanks for helping. I honestly hadn't paid much attention to MSDS on most paints we all use, for that reason we all use them. I trust the fpers here as a whole, and if it really wasn't safe I know most everyone wouldn't use them. This is a new paint so I thought I better look, but it didn't make much sense to me.

These always freak me out when I read them. Suspect

I have realized that even looking at organic makeup can still be somewhat hazardous if inhaled! affraid Now, how many times do you take a breathe when you apply your powder to your face? Even baby powder for clowns is not good for your lungs.

Most nail polishes are listed as 4free. Safer, but nothing seems to be truley safe these days geek
